ourselves. This was a fall planting.
When the lawn began to come up in the Spring of 2011, it was filled with crab grass and the fabric barrier was still visible in many locations so we knew it hadn't been ripped up. We also had several bare spots from this. We contacted Marco Roberts from GL and he came to our home. He agreed that the lawn was not done properly. He stated he would rip up the lawn and remove
the fabric, bring in new topsoil and reseed. That was in the beginning of the summer. We called and called. His partner, Olek Juszczyk, came. He also agreed that it needed to be redone. We were told Marco was on vacation and would handle when he returned.
At some point he wanted us to pay an additional $5,000 to re-mulch our yard. We said no. My feeling is he was trying to build in the cost of redoing a job gone wrong.
We continued to call. Now we are approaching Fall. After more run-a rounds, Marco finally showed up with a backhoe. He ripped everything up, leaving a big mound on dirt behind. His backhoe was planted in our front yard for several weeks. He finally came and removed it. The lawn remained ripped up for the following Winter.
Needless to say, this Spring (2012) we finally hired another contractor to do the remaining work.
Each and every time he was called there were excuses; lastly, his truck was in for repair. We continued to call, sometimes every day, and he finally stopped returning our calls.
