The electrical serice panel in the basement seemed in relatively good shape from the exterior. However, Dan removed the cover of the panel and found two major problems. The right side wires were all singed in a fire, and the panel had water damage. He left the panel open for me to inspect when I got off of work. He explained water in the box was usually carried in by a fault in the insulation of the cable from the meter. He suggested replacing the service panel, repairing the internal wires, and running a new cable from the meter in.
While working with the old meter on the house, he found it to be in severe disrepair and contacted and coordinated with CL and P who replaced the meter. After all this was done,he had me inspect everything with him and faxed a letter to CL and P stating the power was safe to be restored.
Really did a nice job, at a very fair price, and coordinated everything well with the electric company. Would highly recommend Riiska Electric for any future work.
