The job took about a week. Each day, Mike showed up in the morning to get things started and came back in the late afternoon to make sure everything was as it should be. The painters were friendly and went out of their way to not be in the way. By that, I mean they concentrated on one area at a time so that we had normal use of the rest of the house. They left the place tidy every day when they were finished painting.
On his daily inspections, Mike discovered a few things that we had overlooked initially, i.e., the pull-down attic door and a side door into the garage. Even though these weren't included in the original estimate, he took care of them anyway.
We had originally said we needed the work done by Thanksgiving, but as the holiday grew nearer, we realized that people were going to start arriving on Tuesday. Over the weekend I contacted Mike to ask if they could finish by Monday night. No problem. Monday morning he showed up with 3 painters instead of the usual 2 and he, himself, picked up a brush and went to work in order to accomodate our request. The painting was completed by mid-afternoon and after the painters did their final clean up, the place was immaculate.
I forgot to mention that they even repaired a drooping door frame that was preventing the French doors between our living and family rooms from closing completely. This is the kind of service and dedication that you can only hope for when you bring in a new contracter. We're happy to report that Old Lyme Painting delivered. The painting was outstanding, as was the service. We give them our highest recommendation!
