Overall it went well. Property looks clean. Perhaps the power tools are a bit too strong, as a lot of the mulch was gone from the garden beds when the job was done. They did the job in about 4 hours.

Terrible service.  Do not use this landscaping company.  I had a tree damaged during last years October snow storm, that Dan, the owner, quoted for me to take down.  The tree was located on my rental property.  It was a large oak tree, that needed to be climbed and limbed before removal.  The trunk was about three feet across.  The price was reasonable, and a couple hundred dollars cheaper than other established, well known tree services, so I took a chance and went with Ventura.  The excuses started almost immediately.  It took him nearly two months of excuses before he even started the job.  This was blamed on the need for a dump truck.  The first excuse of many to come. Then, what was supposed to be a couple of days to take the tree down, turned into two weeks.  Mind you, at this point, it is a full two months after the job was quoted.  Why was it dragged out?  I will list the excuses;1.  Tree too big, more than expected.2.  Climber not available, so a lift will need to be rented.3.  No wood chipper available.4.  Lift not big enough, will need another one.5.  Workers walked off of the job.6.  Chainsaw is broken, and/or not big enough and other is coming in the mail.He tries to justify his lack of service with the fact that he is/was losing money on the job.  My fault?  No it is not.  He disguises the fact that he is a bad business owner with excuses looking for sympathy, and empty promises.  I should also add that he dropped the trunk of the tree in my neighbors yard.  I had to go and move the pieces from her yard myself, even after I asked if they were in the opposing yard.  All through this, I had remained patient.  I honestly wasn't in a rush.  I made the mistake of paying him before the job was 100% complete.  It was mid January at this point.  I removed the wood from the property myself, per our contract.  But the stump looked terrible.  We agreed that the stump would be cut flat to the ground, level.  It didn't need to be perfect, but should look decent, cut to the ground.  I contacted Dan.  In January.  It is now April, and the excuses continue to come as to why it isn't done.  I want to do a spring clean up, but the stump should be complete first.  Apparently this is too much to ask, and he needs more than 6 months to finish a job.  I am through dealing with him, and will have it completed via other avenues.  I will upload pics of the stump for other to see.  I took these pics after I cleaned up the area, please don't think that he did any of that.Bottom line.  DO NOT USE VENTURA LANDSCAPING.
