Our car was due for emissions testing and the check engine light was on. We took it to Firestone, knowing it was going to fail the emissions test. They thoroughly went over the car and told us all that was wrong with it. Unfortunately, it was going to cost more money then the car was worth and we decided to sell the car and look for a new (used) one. When we explained this to Firestone, they were very understanding and did not pressure us into getting the expensive repairs done. They even told us that if we were looking at used cars, they would check out the car for us before we bought it for $20.

The service was great. Had a 7:00 AM appointment. Was expecting to get out by 9. However the service person was slower by very malicious. I knew the price of before the work started and had some coupons to help lower the price at checkout.

I got a routine oil change and maintenece done on car went early was in and out.

We do all of our service to Firestone, tires, oil, and everything. They are excellent, very punctual, reasonable, efficient, and thorough. Their price is reasonable.

Came here for emissions. The mechanic didn't realize I was at the observation window and was pulling at my brake line until it let go, spilling onto the floor. Now I'm stranded and late for my next commitment, faced with an $800 complete brake line overhaul estimate. How convenient for you guys, huh? The only thing I can say in their defense it that my truck was a '94 with slight rust underneath due to the wonderful New England road salt. But there's no reason to tug at the line for five full minutes. I couldn't figure out what on earth he was trying to do. Point out the problem first. Let me make my own decisions. I paid out-of-pocket for the tow back to my business where a co-worker fixed it for free. Good deal since we were giving the truck to him anyway. My regular mechanic, speechless, told me it would have been a $400-500 job. I cannot help but feel taken advantage of and I can only assume this has happened to other people.
