Tom went above and beyond my expectations. He worked with me to create a shower within budget that met the constraints of having an existing drain and plumbing. The whole job only took four days as promised. As a nice touch, he provided a similar shower head to the one I had before and even provided a shower curtain. I would highly recommend for your next job.

Wonderful experience! Tom and crew are professional and courteous, and a pleasure to work with.I am getting rave reviews from everyone who sees the kitchen. Achieved much more floor, counter and cabinet space. Allowed for bringing almost all food storage up to kitchen and pantry level, which was a major goal as I am partially disabled. Fair pricing, excellent workmanship, honest estimate of time scheduling. Made suggestions and recommendations to save cost. Did not try to oversell us. Once work started they worked a full day almost every day, and progress was made. If we were waiting for delivery of appliances, granite, etc., they moved on to other areas to keep steady pace. Cleanup every day at end of work day is the best I have ever experienced in my 33+ yrs. of being a homeowner. Sub contractors were equally as courteous and diligent as the general contractor. I cannot say enough about how pleased I am with my new kitchen! I am already making plans to have other rooms painted this winter.

Before work began, Mr. Grimm explained all the stages of the project, namely the demolition, restoration and finishing. Each process was explained in simple terms. All of our questions were answered. When work began, Mr. Grimm and members of his crew, arrived on time everyday and worked throughout the day. After work, the clean up was efficient, allowing us to move around the work area with ease. With Mr. Grimm's advice, guidance and resources, we created a beautifully, renovated kitchen. We strongly recommend him for contracting services.

Tom went above and beyond to take care of everything as if he were installing his own kitchen. I had cabinets shipped from Home Depot and two of them came broken, so he drove them back and had them swapped out for good ones. He brought on his team to paint, handle plumbing and electrical work. They were all very professional and competent. He even installed a smoke detector because he noticed there wasn't one in the room. When the job was done, the new kitchen looked amazing. His pricing was fair and he tried to save me money where he could, which I appreciated. Overall, a great experience, and I will definitely use him again in the future.

Tom was professional from the beginning. When we first mentioned we wanted to have our kitchen, which was the original kitchen in our house built in the mid 80s, remodeled, he sat down with us and helped us determine exactly what we wanted. He steered us away from quick fixes like cabinet refacing and instead helped us plan a kitchen that would be modern, up-to-date, and within our price range. When it was time to do the work, Tom and his entire team were punctual and efficient. In a little over 2 weeks, almost everything in the kitchen was replaced: Cabinets, dishwasher, countertops, sink, faucets, lighting, microwave, paint. Tom and his team even took care to make sure our three cats were safe and were disturbed as little as possible. I couldn't be any happy with the way the kitchen turned out. I would recommend Thomas Grimm and Sons to anyone needing home remodeling or repair work.

I can’t begin to tell you how fantastic Tom Grimm and his
team is. First of all, he does all of the work himself along a team he's
work with for decades. Mario, his partner in crime is extremely detailed
and an efficient worker. Tom's subs are great as well. From Joe @
Precision Electric in Norwalk (who also rewired my mud room after finding some
scary wiring) to the plumber to his granite guy and cabinet supplier. ALL
GOOD.
The team only works one job at a time. They come over around 8-830 and
stay all day. That means they are
focused and always turn up when you expect them to.
Tom is very patient and will explain everything that is
being done. He is honest and does
everything he can to make the project be successful without over promising. He also works well with the other trades and
follows up with folks without my involvement (ex. Town for permits, utility for
propane hookup, cabinet supplier with delivery). I was really impressed with the level of
which he takes ownership of the project
He is meticulous in his work. The tolerances in the
cabinet work and how they meet the appliances are super tight. Makes the
whole kitchen sing of quality.
Our kitchen was dark, drabby and was in dire need of a
complete remodel. We ended up with
something more than a kitchen, it’s more of a focal point of the house and has
dramatically changed its usefulness.
If you are considering any major project and need a capable,
knowledgeable, fairly priced and honest contractor, you must put Tom on your
list of people to interview.
I will be using Tom and his team for future project.

Tom and his associates are true professionals. We had a tight timeline and they were more than happy to help meet our deadline. Their work was well executed, they showed up on time each day, and their cost was very competitive. We would recommend them to any of our friends and family and would be more than happy to have them perform future work on our home.

.Thom doesn't take short cuts on the job and if something is going to cost more than what was quoted you know why and how much. Alternatively, Thom looks for ways to save money if possible to pass along to the customer. He is a contractor who really puts his customer's interest first. He is easy to talk to and willing to listen and answer any question. When you are spending money it is nice to be able to ask why, what and how questions for someone like me who knows nothing about Thom's business.

The contract process was simple. He accepted all changes recommended by my attorney. All work was done to our complete satisfaction. The work was on budget and completed in a timely manner. His employees were prompt, punctual and practiced excellent workmanship. Mr. Grimm was always available for advice and for any changes. Cleanup always went well. Mr. Grimm is courteous, honest and hard-working. We are planning to use his services in the future and recommend him highly.

I was incredibly impressed by the attention to detail he had as well as the care he took towards doing a quality job.

He was very open to discussing the best options for my project and helping me decide when and when not to spring for the nicer materials, more expensive techniques, etc.

He brought in subs for plumbing, electrical and drywall and did everything else himself with his helpers. All of the subs had great relationships with Tom and were also very easy to work with.

I strongly recommend Tom and would use him again in a heartbeat.

We were satisfied and they did a considerable amount of work for us. They didn't want me to tell anyone about the price, but, we got a good deal. It's a moderate 5 figures. I used to work for a bank and we used to do credit reports. A moderate price could be anything from $25,000 to $65,000. We got another quote and it was 2-3 times as much. They're contractors. I give them high ratings and would use them again in the future.

Based on other positive AngieList reports we asked Tom to quote on turning our tired old bathroom into a new one. He replaced the vanity and shower, all the lighting, added beadboard and refinished/repainted all the walls and ceiling. Everything about this job was positive. He knows, his business, is punctual, professional, invested in doing a great job, had good ideas we hadn't thought of, provided a firm estimate and stuck to it, He and his team were tidy and cleaned up completely at the end of each day. We made some changes after seeing that our original ideas weren't so good. . . no problem, Tom made them happily. He is also a good communicator on the phone and in person. We give him top marks in all categories and will be using him again in the future.

. There was nothing that I did not like. He was very good. I have recommended him privately. I had a tiny little bathroom; it was a difficult job to upgrade it. The floor was not even and the previous work was not done in a real good way. Probably it would have been easier to sweep it out and then restore it. He had to work around things that we were not taking out. He did a good job. He was responsive because I have had really crappy people earlier. He was within what he had estimated. He was recommended by my plumber. He is a local plumber who is very well known in this area. I had recommendations from professionals for him. . I was not just shopping around. He is very upfront. He was willing to work with me as far as me getting my own tile, me getting my own closet, my things. I had picked up a sink and stopped to see what it looked like. He worked with me. He was very forthright. He was honest. I would use him in the future.

This experience was 100% positive. I highly recommend Tom for any home improvement project. I priced 3 liner companies and two real contractors. Two of the liner companies were slightly less money, one was much higher. The other real plumber was higher. Tom promised a 3 day job and he delivered, starting at 7:30 in the morning and finishing at 6 sometimes. He is efficient, professional, knowledgeable, experienced, clean, polite, thoughtful, dependable, economical, organized and exacting. His work is impeccable. He listens and does not try to sell you something you don t need. However, if you ask for something that isn t structurally sound, he ll fully explain it so you don t regret it later. Tom even found a problem with my sink and fixed it, even though it wasn t part of the contract. Tom cares about his work. I can t imagine a better contractor. The bathroom is beautiful, and requires no maintenance. It s worry-free. He made sure I always had a usable toilet in the evenings when he left. I will trust him with a house key if I need any other work done in the future. If you re considering a tub liner, forget it. Call Tom. He ll save you money and you ll have a real bathroom instead of cheap, flimsy acrylic.

The knowledge, attention to detail, quality and professionalism Tom and his team displayed enabled me to relax and trust that everything was being taken care of without any worry. At times, I thought Tom was able to read my mind because he thought of everything that I wanted and more. Tom has a wonderful eye for detail and design and I soon learned to trust his thoughts and opinions. They were always punctual and they always cleaned up before leaving each day. At the conclusion of the job, I couldn't have been happier and they left my home cleaner than when they started. I would hire Tom Grimm again in an instant.
