Excellent service. This is the third time I have hired Tarala Electric for similar work. My electrician, John showed up on time, 7:15 am. He was pleasant, respectful of property and performed this task in a timely fashion.

Perfect. Always a pleasure working with Mike and his team. They are all well-trained, knowledgable, professional and respectful. I had them service a Generac generator I previously had serviced by another "not-worth mentioning" company (but I did give that company and well-deserved accurate Angie's List review"). It was verified the previous company didn't perform any work on a service that was going to be paid for if I didn't show proof it wasn't done. Tarala is reputable and THE best electrical company around.

I called around and found Tarala Electrical to be extremely responsive and professional.  Their prices were slightly higher, but I put more weight with the fact that they have been around forever, locally family owned/operated and provide a first class service.
Therefore, they went ahead wired my entire home!   They did a remarkable job and were super super clean throughout the process.
in the end, I wouldn't think of using anyone else for my electrical work.
You won't be disappointed !!

They were very nice, professional and on time.  They were expensive but they did a good job.  They were available through email so that's practical.  Their communication was really good and they were always professional.  It's a big company. Sometimes they are so busy I guess that they have a hard time scheduling us.

Always on time, and all work was done to my satisfaction. Price was great, and I think I saved a lot of money by going with Tarala due to their less-expensive suggestion for how to link in my generator. Just a great experience!

The person (Bill) who gave the estimate was on-time, professional, extremely knowledgeable and helpful.  He recognized things that other electrical contractors did not, he gave fair prices and did not charge for things that did not need to be done.
Basically, Bill is your dream contractor.  Honest, forthright, professional, knowledgeable, skilled and punctual.  Bill is pleasant, easy to understand and fair.
In addition, the work that was done was by another person, who was also skilled and friendly, knowledgeable and accessible.
So why not straight A's across the board?  Well, they have issues with responsiveness.  They acknowledged that this is a problem and apologized, but still, getting these guys to respond was bordering on "are these guys alive or dead."  Still, there are a ton of reasons why they could have had issues- including the fact that this was right around the time that New Canaan had massive snow storms, electrical outages, a ton of people were catching the flu, etc.  But all of the anxiety with respect to whether the work would be completed could have been solved by a 3 sentence email.
Anyway, the bottom line:
1.  Tarala is the best electrical contractor we've ever dealt with - from a work quality, price, and knowledge standpoint.
2.  They could definitely use some help in the responsiveness department.

They are very, very fair. I called them on a Saturday evening and I have two invalids in the house. It was 58 degrees in the house when I called him. He came right away and did not charge me the weekend rate; he charged me the regular rate. We had heat within an hour. He didn't have the part so he went back to the store to get it. He went over and above what I expected. They came when they said they would come. They are reasonable. I would most definitely use them again.

They are reliable, clean, and are great for emergencies.  If you call them during an emergency, they are there soon.  They don’t make you wait for days and days.  They are reasonably priced for this area.

I had used them in the past and knew that they were reliable and good at what they do. I like the fact that for the most part the employees know what they are doing and they are very pleasant people to deal with. They are good at setting up and keeping appointments. This last experience was a little bit mixed. We had our house painted and the fixture had been removed. It had been in place for at least 40 years, which is as long as we have lived in the house. At the time the painters were putting it up again they found that the receptacle for the bulb had deteriorated and they did not put it back up at my request. I called Tarala to have it repaired. Once of their employees came to look at it and said they didn?t think it was worth repairing and suggested that I get a new one. I went to look for a new one and found that one that was comparable would have cost several hundred dollars. This time I took the thing myself over to their offices in the next town. The young man who was there at the time was very understanding and as a matter of fact had done work for us both in our home and in the facilities of organizations that my husband and I both are involved with. He immediately said they would fix it and they did and it was brought back and reinstalled. I have sort of a mixed feeling about the fact that the first guy who came had made a call for which we were charged, but had not followed through on getting the thing fixed. But the final result is fine. I live in West Port Connecticut and which has become a very upscale community and consequently prices of everything are high, but I think given the level of their expertise and their service their prices are ok. I don?t really have any specific comparisons. When he came to install it this last time he said he would be here between 7:00 or 7:30 in the morning, which I thought was pretty early but he was here at 7:00.

Ishmael showed up as scheduled. He was later joined by John. The job took a few more hours than we had anticipated, but Ishmael and John were efficient and effective, and the cost was reasonable.

They are very good and I am happy with them. They are very professional and that says it all. They respond to your calls, return calls and do what you ask. They are not the cheapest game in town, but I thought the price was reasonable considering what they did.
