K & J Tree Removal

Excellent. Showed up as planned and were very professional. They took care to put mats down to protect my underground sewer line. A separate crew returned a few days later to collect the wood and deposit it in the neighborhood.

What I was assured it'll be 'one day' job eventually ended up being a five day job. The crew did not show when scheduled (the date was set one month in advance). Nobody called to inform me of the schedule change. I called the office multiple times to get information when scheduled work will be done. Office would either not get back to me, or provide me with wrong information to get me off the phone. Various crews appeared randomly, with wrong equipment, so the job could not be done. There was no lack of excuses for delays (weather/rain, delays due to other projects, broken equipment).... Team would not use mats to protect the lawn unless we asked for them (although we were promised mats will be used for heavy equipment). Even with mats, part of the lawn has been damaged. Many oil stains from equipment left on the driveway after various crews left. Communication among folks in the office, sales, and service teams is terrible. Most of the work I managed to get done by getting back to the sales person, who moved things along. I never got wood chips I wanted to be left after grinding stumps, although I specifically asked for them in the beginning and was ensured that would be no problem to leave some for mulching. I called the office and sales representative a number of times after the job was done asking to drop off some wood chips. It never happen, although I was told they will be dropped off. I gave up calling as it's clear to me this won't happen. Explanation I was given - big truck can't unload part of the load, so we can't deliver you wood chips we promised to leave. Something I was not told this would be an issue initially. All in all, I had negative experience with this company. They were not professional and communication with the customer terrible. I would not recommend to hire them.

Excellent - They had an arborist with them and the reshaping went much better than I expected. They chipped and took away all their work and cleaned up after themselves. They were quick, on-time and professional.

Excellent service. They arrived on time, started the work but had to come back a 2nd day to complete. Cleaned up and honored their quote. I would highly recommend K &J for any tree related service you may need. I will continue to use them.

Had a bunch of trees to cut down on the property.  Very quick and responsive estimate.  It all goes down hill from there.  Scheduled service date for 2 weeks down the road.  On the day they were supposed to arrive they came late, therefore not done in time.  Very poor communication between the people on the ground and the office.  Told different things by different people, resulting in us unable to have them finish the work for >2 weeks.  Then they have different people from cutting crew removing the trees.  Initially we were thinking of keeping some of the wood for firewood, but we changed our minds before they even came to cut any trees.  We spoke with the office 3 times to say we wanted all of the wood removed, they assured us it would be, but of course it wasn't, had to ask the crew back again.  When they were onsite my husband went to talk to the driver, I guess he was annoyed that he had to come back and ignored my husband.  So unprofessional.  When I spoke with the office about this they said they'd "talk with the driver", so really nothing.
So all in all it took ~4 weeks from first cut to removing all trees.  I realize this was a big job, but seriously, 4 weeks?!   During the job communication was difficult, called with questions, no one knew the answers.  But they are very good about collecting payment, calling everyday and leaving annoying messages since day service finally completed
