Warning: Stay away from this company! It's a complete rip-off. Just for a diagnostic, they demanded $189, but that was just the beginning. They sneakily charged my credit card $321. Foolishly, I gave them a second chance, and they proved to be consistently terrible and engaged in fraudulent practices. To put things into perspective, a basic thermostat from a reputable brand like Honeywell costs $40-$60. However, this company replaced my thermostat without any valid reason and slapped me with a hefty $494 invoice. As a property manager, I strongly advise against using their services. This is not just a casual complaint; I can provide all the transaction details for anyone who wants to scrutinize them. In my honest opinion, this is the worst company I've ever dealt with. Even after reaching out to the billing department and attempting to dispute the charges, they showed no willingness to address my concerns. Stay away!

We called Hellas Air when our cooling went off all of a sudden during a hot summer day. A Technician came out and diagnosed our compressor to be broken. He explained that because we have an old system it is not possible to replace the compressor and that we need to replace the entire system for over $7000. The company provided us with a quote for a new AC system for the house. In the meantime we decided to get a second opinion by another company. The second company came and inspected the system. They found that the fan was wired incorrectly to the compressor terminal which would cause it to burn out. Then they found that the compressor capacitor was bad. They replaced the capacitor and the fan motor and. The system works perfectly. Shame on Hellas Air for falsely misdiagnosing our system and miswiring our fan motor. I can't say if they purposely did it.bit it sure seemed that way. When we called to try to resolve this we were faced with a rude and unprofessional manager who lacks training in customer service. She continuously Laughed and snarked at our concerns, giving us responses like “good for you” rather than trying to come up with a solution and she even eventually hung up on us.

Within the company I found one or two technicians that I regularly use that makes my personal experience incredibly good. Since the technicians are kind of hit or miss, unless I get exactly the right one, then I'm potentially in the right spot. I can request for the technician I want but I pay a huge premium to do that. I'm totally fine with signing up with their yearly maintenance package plan and getting the premium, but I can get the technicians that I found to be very good. I run multiple properties in the area and I just kind of learned which technicians are good.

4sqiGreat.  We went years with out air conditioning, and spent winters with radiant oil heating.  We originally called them to install air-conditioning, but decided we could no afford central air. Instead of turning us away because we could not install the most expensive units,  they explained all of our options, and how they could work with our home in the most efficient way.  We were able to price Mitsubish units and they are AMAZING. Not only do they cool, they heated our home SO much faster than waiting for our radiant heat to kick in.  It was an added bonus they explained at first, but we had no idea how beneficial it would be to us in the long run.  No significant increase in our electric bill, especially because you can run them on economy mode. Have not had a single problem with the units- only need annual filter changing.   3,574sq ft home.

The representative showed up on time and took the time to explain all of the issues as well as the components to the routine maintenance of the HVAC system. He cleaned the coils in the air distributor, changed the filters, checked for clogs in the pipes, and serviced the exterior heat pump. He also suggested possible improvement measures to improve HVAC system operations. He was great and I plan on using Hellas again for future HVAC system maintenance.

I called Hellas in because our hot water boiler stopped working. due to a broken part. Prior to calling, I had figured out which part was broken. I provided them with the exact part number so they could bring a replacement. They came on time but did not bring the part we needed. They left to go get the part. Two hours later they came back, explaining that they had to go to three different supply companies looking for the part, and had to wait in line at each one, and the first two supply houses were out of stock. They cleaned the boiler, installed the part, and our heat was working again.

I was stunned when they charged $541 for this job. That included $90 per hour, per man, for the entire time from when the two techs left their location until they got back again. That's right - I was paying $180 per hour for the entire two hours that they two guys were hunting around for the part - that's the part that I had told them to bring with them in the first place! That price also included $58 for the replacement part - a TFE rollout switch. I happen to know that this part is available for $7.95.

I called Hellas to request that they review the bill, since I did not feel it was fair to be charged for the time these guys spent hunting around for a part that I had told them to bring with. I was told someone would call me back, but no one did. I called again a week later, and spoke to a manager. He was extremely defensive, insisting that Hellas always charges for the time of BOTH techs - even when they are out waiting in line at supply houses. He also insisted that the actual cost of the part is "none of my business" because $58 is their "standard price" for that part. The manager was downright rude, dressing me down over the phone for daring to question their billing practices.

While it's true our heat got turned back on in a prompt manner, and the techs did their job well, I will never use this provider again. Not only do I resent being overbilled, but the supercilious and rude attitude of the owner/manager on the phone is the mark of a company I do not want to deal with.

I have been using them for years. I have a contract with them. They are punctual and trustworthy. They come out and start up the air conditioner for the summer and clean everything. During the fall they come out again to check the heating and clean everything and do basic maintenance. They are pretty reasonably priced. They are also great on emergency calls.

They came out quickly and got the job done. The quality of their work was good and I was satisfied with their service.
