+ 1 moreAs usual, Paul's workers were talented and considerate. There was extensive plaster dust, but they kept the mess under control, so it didn't spread to other parts of the house. They did a great job, and we're still enjoying it 4 years later. In fact, we've had them return to do more work in other parts of the house, including a roof. He's not the cheapest contractor, but in this case you definitely get what you pay for. It must mean something that he keeps the same people employed for many years--perhaps it means that he pays them decently and treats them with the respect they deserve.
Description of Work: Removal of walls, beam placement, new ceilings, extensive wall & floor repairs in five rooms in a 150-year old house.

Description of Work: The provider roofed half of the house, made a beautiful addition to our winter garden and is currently redoing the floors on the main floor.

replacement windows
+ -1 moreThe workers were very nice, efficient, and clearly very capable. They had to deal with some special problems that come with a very old (1852) house that hasn't been particularly well maintained. They were quiet and considerate (I work at home). They cleaned up thoroughly every night. Considering how expensive the windows were, the overall price was quite reasonable.
Description of Work: Replaced all 34 double hung windows, including one large new-construction casement window. Several of the basement windows needed masonry repairs.

+ 0 morePaul Guarniere, who owns The Handyman Workshop, did an excellent job for us. He showed up on time and worked very hard. He was also professional and friendly. There was no mess left and his price was just fine. I've already recommended him to many of my friends. He can do much more than just roofing.
Description of Work: He did the roofing work on our 1200 square foot home and on a shed. He first took off all of the old roof and disposed of it. He also repaired the chimney while he was up there. The shingles on the new roof are asphalt and the roof has a very high pitch.
