TILE DESIGNS BY LAURA

I just finished my first and only time ever purchasing anything from Tile Designs by Laura. As I walked out the door, Laura called me an "*******". In the summer my wife and I visited Laura's store to get ideas for an upcoming bathroom remodel we were planning. Laura asked us some questions and told us exactly how we should do the remodel. She was pushy and dismissive of our thoughts and ideas. Ultimately, we decided to pursue other options for obtaining our tile. Fast forward to this week and our construction is starting soon and our tile for our niche in the bathtub/shower is mismatched with the rest of the tile. Because of the short notice, I opted to return to Laura's store, where I had remembered seeing similar tile before. I explained to her that we were starting our remodel this week and that we weren't able to obtain the correct penny tile and asked if she could please help. As soon as I began explaining my situation, she remembered me from the previous visit in the summer. She immediately became rude, dismissive, and said, "you don't give me the job and now you want me to bail you out? I shouldn't help you". I apologized if that's how she felt, but I was asking for her help now. She reluctantly took the order, but wouldn't even confirm that she would submit it. The next day she called (without introducing herself) and simply said "your tile is ready". I immediately drove over to her store and when I went inside thanked her for her help. She proceeded to throw the tile on the countertop with such force that I was worried she may have broken it. She accepted my payment and repeated "I shouldn't have helped you" and then proceeded to walk back to her office. As I walked out of the store, she shouted loudly so I could hear, "THAT'S THE ******* WHO ONLY WANTED THE DECORATIVE TILE." No customer should have to be treated this way.

Laura was recommended to us by Tony at Bender's.  He explained that Laura was the best person in the area for design and layout.  My husband and I first met Laura in February of 2013, we are in the process of completely remodeling our new home and had three bathrooms, a kitchen and all floor's to be done.
Laura first visited our home in order to see for herself the rooms and natural lighting.  She then visited Bender's to see the lighting, vanities and mirrors we chose for each bathroom.  Laura did this before she even met with us so that she knew what components we had already picked out!  She is very good at what she does and takes the time to familiarize herself with the spaces and existing decor she will be working with.
We then went to Laura's showroom in North Haven to meet with her.  Laura spoke to us about our family and living situation and asked us what we were looking to achieve as far as a design look.  Based on our conversation with her and with having seen the space for herself and knowing what decor would be used,  Laura was immediately able to recommend floor, wall and accent tiles  for all of the bathrooms; each being distinctive and condusive to the look we were hoping to achieve.  Laura also chose tile for the entry foyer and hallway that beautifully tied in to the flooring for the rest of the home.  Laura also recommended paint colors for different rooms of the house based on the tile and existing decor.  The results are amazing!  We LOVE the paint colors!  Laura even granted my daughter's wish for a purple room by picking out a very sophisticated light purple color that I am sure my daughter will be happy with for years to come!
Laura is truly an artist and has a wonderful design sense.  Her store and showroom are full of gorgeous samples of tiles and decorative boarders.  Laura is passionate about her work and has a vast and intimate knowledge of ALL of the products she carries.  All of the products Laura sells are high quality and there are countless different styles, types and colors of tiles; truly something to suit anyone's taste!  It seems like second nature for her to take one piece of tile and chose several other decorative components that all compliment each other and make for a beautiful design.  Laura is very straightforward and will tell you up front if a particular color or style does not go with another, she will say "Trust me!  It is going to look beautiful!"!
I would highly recommend Laura to anyone looking for a true professional who is knowledgable and creative!  TRUST HER!!!  You won't regret it!!!
