Very smooth. Sidetex is now called "Red Leaf Remodeling". It is the same people who do the same good work.

The entire project from the initial quote to completion went perfectly. Their workmanship was excellent and they were very responsive to a minor follow up issue. I would definitely recommend them

This was an exceptionally well done job. From the beginning through to completion the work was thoroughly explained to me and the work itself was professionally done. This was not the cheapest quote we received. It was the ONLY quote. Side Tek has done work for us before and we were more than pleased with it. Yes, there may be someone out there who is cheaper, but none better and you get for that which you pay.

After taking our down payment we waited forever to get the doors.  Then during the install Paul Knapp showed up to get paid-mistake, ewe paid him.  The doors never worked right.  The back door was repaired and to date is OK.  
But the front door was not installed correctly, the lower seal has been replaced by the manufacture several times.  The storm door still doesn't close correctly.  
The town of North Haven requires permit to do this work, we have asked on several occasions but no permit!
The Provia Doors are great quality but when installed by SidTex maybe no so.....too much money with no service to support them.

My experience with them was pretty much okay. The workmanship wasn't AA quality. They used a nail instead of white end screws. They didn't have specialized tools to bend the parts on the windows. It stands out. It wasn't an A operation, but it wasn't bad and it was a B operation.

They were very prompt in all the dealings I had with them. The man that did the work was thorough. He cleaned everything up when he was done. He was very polite and did all the work carefully.

Terrible, it took a year rather than 2 months. The craftsmanship was so bad. They had to redo things two and three time and still everything was crooked and off line. The workers had no idea what they were doing. After a year I threw them out and had to hire another company to fix their mistakes. The floor came up, the counter and cabinet seams came apart. When they installed the sink it leaked into the floor below and stained the ceiling, the exhaust vent from the stove to the roof had to be done over. They filled my garage with trash from the rip out and left it there for months. It was a nightmare - really they could not have done a worse job.

Overall I am very happy with the work and the doors. The company was very responsive, the workers were punctual and respectful. The workers did have to come back to do the trim for one of the doors because they forgot to do it. There was also an issue with ordering the doors. They took longer than expected, although I wouldn't blame this company for that. I still think it was a little expensive but I believe you get what you pay for and these are quality doors. I would absolutely consider this company for future work.

The windows that they sell are outstanding. Much better than the junky ones I have on a few remaining windows from a major national hardware chain.  Installation was excellent, although the installer I had is no longer with company.  Excellent price for the product.

We had no previous dealings or acquaintance with Sidetex Company but were very happy with the results and quality workmanship. Paul (owner), Wes (Engineer/Supervisor), and Victor (talented craftsman), delivered every product and service they promised in the contract.  --  no surprises.  All staff were intelligent, friendly, polite, and clean.
Initial presentation was professional and thorough. All questions and details before and during the work itself were responded to quickly. Paul is very responsive and respectful of your budget and the prior siding/costs knowledge you learn about and bring to the meeting and he cares about the details that are important to you. They gave us suggestions on our home that made the appearance so much better - that little extra that can make a big difference and were greatly appreciated.
We highly recommend this Company.

They did a good job, but it seemed a bit rushed and the finishing I think could have been better.

We have 27 windows and it got a little expensive. They were very professional and they did a good job. I bought a big deal which was supposed to be 1000 Dollars for 2000 Dollars worth of windows. They called me the next day, after I bought it and it was a promotion that they had run like 18 months ago, and Angie's List had posted it again, so they gave me a discount of 500 Dollars and they said they couldn't honor the amount on the deal.

Paul and his son came to our house with catalogues so we could pick out a new front door and side lights. It took me a while to decide on the style and color, but they were very patient and never nagged. I purchased a front door, storm door and 2 side lights.
On the day of installation, the installers arrived promptly at the agreed time. I can't say enough about the quality of the installation. The previous door was cheap and drafty. This man went above and beyond to get the door installed properly so that it is balanced, tight, and latches properly. My house has settled so this was no easy task. I am so happy with the quality of these doors and installation. They are MUCH better than what I had before.
The installers were also polite and professional. They took care to protect the floor in my hallway during the installation. Everything was picked up before they left - not a bit of trash was left. Paul stopped by during the installation to make sure everything was going well.

They were excellent.  They understood our needs, they cleaned up very well, they were professional, prompt and their price was as per the quote.  They are a very good company to work with.

Overall our experience with Sidetex was excellent. They were very professional. When they came to the house to discuss the estimate, they came with three people, including the owner. They took all the right measurements and displayed excellent products. They were not pushy, but they were eager to earn the job. They showed up when they said they would. (Which is not a thing to be taken for granted with many other contractors, I have learned!) We chose to go with Sidetex largely because of the product line and the professionalism they exhibited.

Once we signed the contract they gave us a schedule and stuck with it. There were two workers assigned to our job. They were friendly and courteous. They came when they said they would. If they were going to start late or end early to attend to some other business, they let us know about it. They were skilled in performing the work, and the entire job looks great. I was very impressed with the attention to detail they spent, especially in the trim work. 

Sidetex: showed up on time, both for estimates/meetings and when performing the work, acted professionally, did great work, and carried great products.  I would use them again without hesitation.

. I now need some repairs done to the siding so I called themback in July to come and give me an estimate on the repairs. They had me speak directly to the job foreman to explain the job to him, which I did as best I could over the phone. I requested he come over since my residence is only 5 minutes away from them. He said he was too busy that day and would call me back. I gave him my cell number and it's now been a full week and no call back.
I must also say that I am really not all that pleased with the job they did either. The windows are great but the siding is not what I expected from a company that has been in business so long. They were supposed to leave me some spare siding in case repairs were ever needed and they didn't. There were a couple of touch up items that they were supposed to come back for and never did. The minute they got paid they were nowhere to be found and now 16 years later they're still nowhere to be found.
To be perfectly honest the only reason I called them was because the siding was still under warranty. They also told me the siding I have is no longer available so now unless they decide to stand behind their work I will go elsewhere.

Owner Paul Knapp and son gave us a very competitive estimate against a more well known completitor here in Fairfield County (Sidetex is based in New Haven county).  We chose them because of Sidetex's long standing reputation and that they also did kitchens, baths, roofs and siding.  But it was also from the personable care that we felt Paul and his staff gave us from the start.  Foreman Brad and his son were workhorses on-site.  Brad's visits before the job, during and after were always filled with personality, caring and professionalism.  He talked to us with passion about his craft.
We know now why INSTALLATION is as important as the windows themselves.  Brad made that clear.  Our windows revolutionized the curb appeal of our house.  OUR NEIGHBORS ARE STINKING JEALOUS. we love it, and we love Sidetex.  We hope to use them again in the near future.

They did good work and I thought it was worth the price. I was satisfied.

They are excellent and professional. They are real craftsman.

I think the cost was between $3,000-$4,000 but one of the windows was very large and I don't remember the exact price. They were very good and the product was very good. I would tell anyone that a replacement window is going to be a little smaller than the original window. They did have to come back to do something. I didn't really shop around. They were very good.

Their service was excellent and their workmanship was very fine. They did exactly what they said they were going to do.
