"Customer contracted Harder Kitchens & Baths to do a complete remodel of his bathroom. Everything went well - but the vanity was delivered with the incorrect door style, which once brought to our attention, was corrected at no extra charge - no extra charge even discussed. Up to this point there where NO issues between the customer & Harder Kitchens & Baths. On final day of project Joel Harder received the sign off from Mr Landon - that everything was completed to his satisfaction. Joel Harder asked for final balance which was due on last day of job, customer told Joel - " he couldnt find his checkbook and he would mail the check to the store". Of course the check never arrived. I called the customer to discuss not recieving last payment and he stated that he was not paying the last installment due to his tub making "sounds". So we made an appointment to evalute the situation. Joel & I arrived at his house and the customer stated that his tub was not level and made noises "everytime he was in it. At this point the customer got in the tub and jumped up and down - but NO noise. Joel then checked the level of the tub and showed Mr Landon that the bubble was dead center and the tub was 100% level. At this point the customer insisted that I get in tub and jump up and down but again NO noise. So after reviewing the levelness of the tub and the noise factor - we all including the customer came to the conclusion that there was NO issue with the tub. At this point I asked the customer for the balance due and he started yelling and cursing at me not at Joel. I then stated " ok no problem - if you are not going to pay last installment I will be leining the property. At this point the customer took the check out of his shirt pocket - already written out and prepared - and threw it at myself. Harder Kitchens & Baths did everything in its ability to satisfy this customer, but some people can not be satified. And at a point in the work relationship you have to lay down the law and tell them how it is - some people just dont like to hear the truth. Our past customers have nothing but great things to say about us. We work on referrals almost 90%. Harder Kitchens & Baths reputation within the industry is stellar. We are concerned that we didnt end our relationship with the customer the way we expected but in our opinion he was not a customer we could have satisfied."
