DRM owner, Dennis Michaels, kept the disruption to our lives to a minimum. He always let us know who was going to be working in our house the next day and when to expect them. Whenever possible, he made sure we had a workable sink and work surface at the end of each day.
Most everyday that one of his subcontractors was here, he showed up before them to get them started and at the end of the day to clean up whatever mess they had left behind. This was particularly notable because he had to drive from North Haven to Vernon, a considerable distance.
All his subs did excellent work and, obviously, had respect for him. He also worked well with our kitchen designer, Karen Warner. He has a good eye for detail and was easily reachable by phone when we had questions.
We highly recommend DRM Construction Solutions.
"We regret [member name removed] gave us this review. We were working to design and come up with pricing to remodel her kitchen within a budget. After several on site meetings and many designs later, we simply could not give them what they wanted for the money they budgeted which was $40,000 not $60,000. Early in 2012, I suggested going with a less expensive and lower quality cabinet maker to stay within their budget. They went to florida in February and never made contact again. I figured they no longer needed or wanted my services. Please note we never came up with agreed scopes or pricing for any work and no contracts were ever executed. I'm not sure how I could "Start next week" without a contract?"
The crew were delight to work with, always friendly, courteous and considerate. All in all, they were in my home from March until October this year, and yet they managed to seem unobtrusive, which is a miracle considering this is a very small, open-plan house. Not only was I able to keep on working despite their presence, but they were able to tolerate having the home-owner right on top of them all of the time, asking questions and making comments. Their courtesy extended to advising me always when they would be arriving and then keeping their word. Each day began with the laying out of spotlessly clean tarps throughout the house, and the erection of dust proof barriers between work and living areas. Each day ended with the folding of tarps and meticulous cleaning.
When the project began, back in March, and I saw the expertise of DRM and their wonderful attention to detail, I asked them to expand the boundaries of their original contract with me and do a whole lot of extra things -- like the work on the roof and mending the staircase. They agreed. The job mushroomed, and eventually DRM said that they would not be able to work with me over the summer months, because they had other commitments which they couldn't put off any longer. There was therefore a hiatus before the job was completed in September and October. [In fairness, it should be noted the bathroom remodel was finished at this point and the bathroom back in use. The dining room was also already complete.] I believe that the distance between DRM's HQ and my home was hurting them in terms of commute time and the expense of gas, as well.
Obviously I was upset about the delay, and have given DRM a and quot;Band quot; instead of an and quot;Aand quot; for responsiveness in consequence. I should stress that I found them responsive in every other aspect ,and that their overall rating of and quot;Aand quot; from me is highly deserved. I know a good thing when I see it. I would not hesitate to use DRM again and would definitely recommend them to my friends, and to you.
