Frank was terrific to work with, he came looked at the area. I told him what we wanted in a backyard, with one specific request of a climbing fragrant yellow rose for an arbor. He came earlier then expect, his work was impeccable, clean and he was a pleasure to work with. He gave us exactly what we asked for including my fragrant yellow rose (which he did have difficulty locating). We couldn't be happier with what he designed and we will have him back to redo our front yard. His work was outstandingly beautiful!

Frank knows his stuff, he did this job like he was doing for himself, finished ahead of time. This guy worked in extream heat without complaining, he left the jobsite neat & clean. I would hire him again in a minute

A1 Landscaping was a fantastic choice. We hired Frank after seeing some of his work in neighboring yards. The landscaping in front of our house was overgrown, mulch has broken down and weeds took over, in short it was an ugly mess. Frank responded to my call on the same day, came out soon after to take a look at the space and sent me an estimate for materials and work before too long. He gave me time to go over his proposal without being pushy. Frank was prompt, very organized, and had his equipment, new plants and mulch ready to go. He worked efficiently and in less than two days the front looked fantastic! His choice of plants complemented not only the house but also matched the Japanese maple we wanted to keep. He installed edging (I trusted his recommendation and it looks great!). Frank was flexible when we asked (a week or so in advance) if he could also mulch an existing playscape on our property. Any changes to the original scope of work (and quote) were discussed and approved by us. Frank left the property perfectly tidy after his work was done. I recommend A1 Landscaping if you are looking for reliability, punctuality, professionalism and competence. Not to mention Frank is personable, so it's easy to simply have a chat about your project.

Frank is wonderful. He provided a great estimate, gave his recommendation based on what we wanted- the. Went out and delivered. He did all the work in a few days and left the surrounding landscaping in great shape. I would highly recommend A1 and i look forward to hiring them for all my future needs.

A-1 Landscaping did a great job building a retaining wall in our backyard. Frank, the owner, was great to work with. He gave us great advice on how to approach the project, listened to what we needed and helped us design a great retaining wall. Frank was very professional and kept the work-area clean after each day of work. I would definitely recommend and work with A-1 again.

It went great. It looks amazing and Frank also leveled out my AC unit because he is a nice guy. A-1 works fast and does a great job.

The new bluestone walkways look great and and we're very happy with how the work was carried out. I can't say enough good things about Frank. The old set-up was poor quality and the design was awkward at best. Frank helped with design ideas which was much appreciated. He dropped off catalogs and samples of the stones we were most interested in. The results are beautiful. His design expanded the patio area. He was very diligent in designing the steps to make them comfortable to use as well as aesthetically beautiful.
Frank was a pleasure to work with. As other reviewers have said, he is a perfectionist which is exactly what you want. It's clear he takes great pride in his work. Aside from pleasing customers, I believe he has his own high standards which he is driven to meet. At some point we will have our front walk replaced and will not hesitate to call Frank.

Frank was great. He was responsive, professional and did everything he said he was going to do, plus MORE. Including the starting and ending on time...a great company that I would recommend to anyone....we definitely are going to have him back to help with more projects.

Frank also helped with the design details including the suggestion of a soldier border which really made the whole patio and walkway come to life...before we started he brought us samples and helped guide us on type of paver and color....VERY helpful!

We used Frank on account of his excellent reviews here on Angie's List and were not disappointed.  Right from the start, you can tell that he is a perfectionist and really cares about doing the best job possible.  Our steps were a disaster before he fixed them; now they are beautiful.  He was very considerate throughout the week that he was working at our home and has always been very responsive via telephone (starting with when we first contacted him about doing the job).  He is exactly the kind of person you want doing work on your home.  I kept looking at the description of the types of jobs he does (on his truck) and racking my brain for other ways that we could use him around our house!  We would absolutely use him again and we highly recommend him to others.

My experience with A-1 Landscaping (Frank) was great from start to finish.  HIs craftsmanship is top-notch and our new patio and walkway is simply gorgeous.  His price was good & his quality of work was excellent.

At the time of the quote, He immediately diagnosed our grading issue with our existing patio, back concrete stairs and landscape without us even pointing it out.  He had to remove our bottom concrete step to have everything graded properly.  He showed us the various options we had for pavers from the manufacturers he uses and explained what work would be done, how it would be done, and how long it would take. He was always responsive to phone calls, showed up when he said he would, and finished the job in the time he said it would take.

And beyond all the professional qualities and being easy to work with, Frank is just a good guy.  My 4 year old daughter even made a picture for "Mr. Frank" when she found out he was finished with working at our house.  My wife & I will definitely be recommending A-1 landscaping to friends & family.

Frank was very responsive and set up a convenient time for the consultation.  We discussed what I was looking for and Frank made some recommendations on size and materials.  I am not sure the difference in the consultation vs a request for an estimate.  However the $49 was applied to the cost of the job and I did hire Frank to do the work.  Frank was quick to respond when I had additional questions before starting the job.
Frank stayed in touch and the job started on time.  Frank did the work himself.  He is a hard worker and stayed on the job until it was completed.  It only took a few days to finish the job. The installation looks great!   I love my new patio; it feels like I've expanded the living space of my house.  Franks recommendation on product was spot on.

From our first meeting I knew Frank was the right man for the job.  He was professional, thoughtful, knowledgeable, and intuitive.  I would love to be able to post photos of the before and after of our front yard to really show the dramatic improvement in my curb appeal!

Frank's professionalism, responsiveness, and attention to detail was extremely impressive. Add to that a meticulous approach to his craft, and high standards for the quality of his work, and the end result was amazing. It turned out to be even better than we had imagined! And, since we had a bunch of leftover pavers, we asked if Frank could use them to make a ramp for our shed. No problem! The entire job was done over the course of four days (just as he'd estimated) and the job site was left nice and clean. The owner, Frank, was very professional, prompt and reliable.  He was respectful to me and my neighbors (condo).  I had no choice but to keep the concrete patio already in place but wanted to enlarge it. Frank did a great job with what he had to work with and even made a terrific suggestion to cover the old, ugly concrete!
