We were charged almost $1,200 to replace a strip of flashing that was about 10ft long and about an hour of effort for two men. They also investigated a possible leak from the guttering on the garage. The original estimate was $870. Steep but should have been easily done within this cost. $1,200 is excessive in my opinion. It took about 6 weeks to get them onsite after the job was estimated and they showed up without the flashing. They charged us travel time to go and get the materials that had previously been estimated. The quality of the work was fine but their overall organization and adherence to their own estimate was poor. To cap it all, they left a smoking pile of mulch, possibly from a cigarette. Luckily, it was spotted before a fire broke out. Cannot recommend.

The job was completed satisfactorily. We use handyman svcs (AKA Shaw Remodeling) with some regularity. Unlike most of the contractors we have dealt with, their phone is always answered by a person (during business hours), and messages always get through to the contractor, so things usually go quite smoothly.

I emailed them on 1/8 asking if they performed furniture assembly, and if so when they'd be available and what it would cost. They emailed me back on 1/9 (great so far!) saying they wouldn't have anyone free until February but could schedule me then. I emailed them back on 1/11 asking to schedule, and asking again for an estimate. I emailed them again on 1/19, and never heard back.

After posting the complaint above, they contacted me and we were able to schedule the bed and headboard assembly I needed. They called ahead of time, arrived early and were very professional and fast.

We called to request an estimate and Colin came two days later; we then received an email with the estimate a few days later.
In a phone call, he answered some questions we had about who would be doing the work, and assured us that his crew consisted of professionals he'd worked with for years. Two men arrived exactly at the time promised, and the work was completed within two days (plus an additional visit to complete some sheetrock work). We were very pleased with the workers, who were polite, professional, and who left the areas cleaner than they found them! We would definitely use this company again. Phone calls are answered by a live, real person, and we even got a note after the work was completed thanking us for the work.

We are very happy with the work that was performed by Colin Shaw and his crew. Colin stands behind his work and made sure that we were happy with the end result. He is true to his word and we will use him again.

The job was done competently, on time, on budget, with a minimum of fuss, and with full clean-up.
The quote had been just a bit higher than we would have expected, but he did not go over, and given how hard it's been finding someone for small jobs, we felt it was worth the price to find someone who was insured and bonded - especially since we have a laundry list of small and medium sized jobs yet to be performed.
We plan on using Colin's people again -in the very near future for some electrical work, small plumbing jobs, and even walkway and landscaping work.
Time will tell if the new grout will mold again, but his office manager Marissa tells me that most of Colin's work is warrantied for a year, so we have confidence that if by some chance it's not done right yet, we know it it will be.

I asked them to provide estimates for work in our kitchen and also for fencing. They did the kitchen work first, on schedule and for the amount estimated, as that was the order I wanted it done. Then when I was ready to do the fencing, they responded and the fence material was ordered and installed within two-three weeks. They came to work when they said they would and they finished within the timeframe we discussed.

They came out when they said they would, were extremely professional and did good work. I have put their number in my address book - will definetely use them again.

Very satisfied. Once the project was started, the workmen came every day, 8-9 hours. The cooperation between him and us was great. The finished product is also great!

They're really good and they come when they say they do. They're backed up, so they don't come right away, but they do come when they say they will.

Great job from start to finish.

The crews made a number of oversights through the job. The project manager was attentive to my requests for rework as needed and the final job was very satisfactory.
