Newtown Car Care Center is a family owned automotive maintenance and repair center located at 3 Commerce Road in Newtown, CT. We originated in 1967 on Route 25 as the Newtown Esso station. Since then we have grown to our new location and have been servicing vehicles here since 1992.

Wonderful service. Honest, absolutely professional, throughly knowledgeable, couldn’t be better. I have been going there for years and would travel from 100s of miles away to keep them as my car service professionals. I’m lucky to have found them.

They put the wrong tire on my car and when I told them this, they said they couldn't take the tire off once they had put it on and wouldn't correct this mistake despite being able to see that the tire doesn't match the other tires.

They're very knowledgeable. When they give an estimate, that's what you pay unless they find more problems in which case they call and tell you what's happening and how much it would be but sometimes, they tell me if it can wait. He's very honest. I'd give them an A.

I had been a long time customer (21 years). The work was performed fine. However, I had given them the job based on their estimate, which was lower than another local shop. It turns out they left something off that I had specifically asked for, and charged much more than the estimate to perform the work. We negotiated it down some, but I still paid more than I would have at the other shop (which I have since changed to and have not been back to Newtown Car Care). I don't think they were dishonest, but they didn't honor the estimate. They lost my business as a result. Also, I felt their prices were getting too high.

Stopped by and they were able to get my car in, gave me a ride home, which is always nice. Car was finished in under 90 minutes after I got home. Was a little shocked at the bill for a basic oil change, Have typically used them for other work and they kept my older car running for a long time, so their work is good.

Used them to have brakes replaced, after they were finished my wife said they made noise which I head they did. I took it back and they said nothing was wrong. To this day they make all sorts of noise.

I rely to them a lot. They are very good to me. I like them. I think the people are extremely helpful. They are pleasant. I have a Toyota with almost 300,000 miles on it and I used to take it to another company and they actually screwed up my car. I took it to Newtown Car Care Center and they looked it all over and the mechanic found something and a couple of other things and I was amazed that the other company didn't find the items. I have a lot of faith on their mechanics.

I contacted them for a price estimate along with three other car service centers, and they were the most reasonably priced. They did the service on time and thoroughly, within the estimated price. They were also courteous and explained the all aspects of the service clearly.

Work was done in a timely fashion and I was provided two options for sourcing the parts, the standard provider and a more cost effective solution. Based on the head mechanics recommendation I went for the standard version. People were friendly and were very helpful specifically when it came to staying a little late to pick up the car. Happy with the overall experience. They did not try and upsell me - get me to fix more stuff - which was a BIG PLUS!

Our GMC Envoy had something wrong with the front wheel. We took it to the GM dealer nearby and they wanted $800 or more. We went on Angie's List and found others who liked this company and tried them out. We paid half for the same service. They knew exactly what was wrong and had it fixed that day. After that great experience we took our GMC Yukon there and had something wrong with that and found out it was something to do with the four wheel drive--again they knew what the issue was and fixed it for a bit over $200. We used to cringe every time something was wrong with our vehicles after moving back to Connecticut--now we at least feel like we are going to be told the truth by an honest group and dealt with fairly.

They did good work and the prices were good. They were reliable and so far the cars are still running. There was a mix up with the keys and it took us three times to get the car. He picked up my son from school to pick the car up since I could not make it from work since the car kept getting locked.

The service was good. They got me in and out quickly even though they appeared to be very busy that day. Everyone was very friendly. I was not pressured into any extra work (one of my pet peeves). I am not sure how competetive the price was, though.

The people at Newtown Car Care are pleasant and knowledgeable. We use them exclusively for both our older cars and trust him completely. He never does anything without telling us why and the cost and he has never steered us wrong.
