About us
Birch Hill Landscape & Design, LLC is a family run, woman owned, business in operation in the Central Connecticut area for over 30 years. You may have seen our fire engine red work vehicles around West Hartford, Newington, Farmington and the rest of the Greater Hartford region. Frank and his wife Mary Niro have been running and operating Birch Hill Landscape for years. Frank has a degree from Springfield Tech with an Associate’s Degree in Horticulture. Vanessa, who is one of three children of Frank and Mary, graduated from Central Connecticut State University in 2011 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management and a Concentration in Entrepreneurship. She has been working full-time as the Office Administrator running both the Commercial and Residential aspects of the business. Vanessa’s commitment to her customers is what she strives for. Vanessa never likes to keep a customer unhappy and will do everything she can for them which is refreshing in today’s business world. Michael graduated from Naugatuck Valley Community College with his degree in Landscape Design and Horticulture in 2013. He currently runs the Commercial crew of the business and is in school to receive his Arborist’s License and Pest Control License. Bill Morrissey joined the Birch Hill family in 2013 as the Landscape Designer for the Residential Division. Bill is a graduate of the Landscape Architecture Program at the University of Connecticut and has over 20 years of experience in the Residential Design/Build Industry. He has extensive experience in all aspects of residential landscaping, including: plantings, masonry, walks, walls, patios, outdoor kitchens, artificial turf putting greens and much more. Bills passion and excitement for landscaping will help you create the perfect landscape plan for your property, while keeping you within budget. Birch Hill also employs a number of professional landscapers and equipment operators, who are all OSHA Certified. The future plans of Birch Hill Landscape & Design, LLC are to expand into a full service Arborist Company with two operating Landscape crew’s in the Residential Field, while maintaining their Commercial crew, designing, building and maintaining properties through-out Connecticut. We look forward to the future of Birch Hill Landscape & Design, LLC and the building of new relationships with all of our current and past customers.

Contractor was very busy so it was hard to pin down a date for installation with him. Estimate was done in a very timely manner. Staff were friendly
From day one, to the end of the project, the crew was awesome! They arrived on time; were very courteous and friendly, and truly appeared invested in doing the best work possible. Despite some grueling hot days, they just kept on working, as hard as ever! They were also open to my questions and, quickly responded to, and resolved, any concern I may have had! It was truly a joy to work with such a professional, dedicated team.
Many neighbors have stopped by to tell us how beautiful the house looks. My next door neighbor, in particular, made it a point to visit me to say how very impressed she was with the professionalism and work ethic of the crew, as well as the wonderful work they did. There are lots of companies out there, but, for all my family and friends, I would whole heartedly recommend they use Birch Hill Landscape & Design for all their landscape needs! it was truly a pleasure working with them!
