They were amazing. Not only did they have to carry their tools for blocks to get around downed trees in a storm, but they had to return with the needed parts and still got the job done before the food in refrigerator was ruined. I have dealt with them for over 30 years and they are always reliable, professional and their work stands the test of time.

I have been a customer for over 4 years and have spent about $15,000 for work on my house. For the most part, the work has been good. However, when they wired my gas stove it was not wired correctly so that when there was an issue with the stove it tripped other breakers - I paid to fix this mistake. On 2 other occasions, the electricians did not arrive with the proper equipment to fix the problem delaying an already lengthy wait. What really frosts me is that I was charged $145 for an electrician to show me how to manually turn off a whole house generator that they installed and for which I pay them over $300/year for a service contract. The electrician was here for 2 minutes. This is something that could easily have been handled over the phone and frankly, I should have been shown this when the generator was installed. When I inquired the best they could do was discount the invoice by 10%. Needless to say, I will not call back.

On the positive side, I have used this companies for several years from small fixes to service upgrades and never had a problem. Also, to be fair, my house is a small (1200sf) but old farm house with a tangle of wiring and in mid-renovation. This was explained to the 2 technicians and I welcomed them to consolidate, replace or remove any extraneous wiring as they worked.
The job request was to restore power that had been lost to an area of the house that included the bathroom and two bedrooms.  I had also asked to have a kitchen light switch repaired but time ran out and that work could not be done.
Apparently, the problem proved to be too challenging as most of the time was spent trying to locate the problem. In the end, additional wiring was run to a bathroom outlet (resulting in a 1" x 7" slot cut in the sheetrock of an adjacent bedroom to snake new wiring and an accidentally broken light fixture) in order to fix the bathroom.  When they left, I had power restored to the 2 other bedrooms.
The next day, I found that the main basement light fixture now did not work and the second one, a ceiling fixture that they had inspected, nearly fell off when I pulled its cord, dangling by its one live wire, and still doesn't work. Within 3 days, all power to the bathroom had been lost again and half the power to the 2 bedrooms had been lost.
I explained my disappointment when I paid the invoice in full but never heard back.
I only write this review in hope to communicate the importance of responsible quality service as well as customer satisfaction and feedback in a competitive business environment.

Hantsch has done 3 jobs in our home over a 3 year period. Each job was more difficult than the previous one, and yet each time Hantsch (specifically Ray) have delivered great results. Always prompt and responsive, they say what they'll do, and when, and they keep their promises. My basement is unfinished, and their wiring work is very neat and clearly labeled, in case future troubleshooting is ever necessary. I'm sold on Hantsch for all future electrical work!

Called Hantsch on 10/25/2012. Howard came that afternoon and checked our site placement etc. Promised to give an estimate in a few days. Called him on 11/5 -Sandy had occured the week before- but he had sent the contract and I recieved it in the mail that day. I told him I signed the contract and would drop it off at his place with a check that same day. He reminded me to call Mitchell to hire them for the tank installation etc. Also said the generator might take a bit longer than expected due to the huge demand for generators due to the storm. On 11/26 2 workers came and set up a platform for the generator and dug trenches from the house to the platform and a trench from the platform to where the propane tank would be. They layed out the tubing for the wires from the generator to the house and filled in that trench. On 12/7 the generator arrived and was installed. On 12/11 and electrician sent from 9AM to 4:30 PM setting up the electic box in my basement that would run to the generator with all the lines I wanted to run when the power went out. He did a test to show us how it would work automatically and start running within 10 seconds of a power outage. I received their bill in the mail on 12/23. The next day we had a real power outage and everything worked exactly as promised in 10 seconds. The power was restored in 45 minutes and the generator turned off.

The electrician showed up on time and was able to give me an estimate as well as do the job right on the spot. He was kind, neat with his work, knowledgable, and answered all my questions in manner that I could understand. I was so pleased that I asked for an estimate on having a few baseboard heaters replaced and new thermostats installed. Big fan of the experience.

HANTSCH gave me a ball park estimate over the phone to install an outlet in my basement near my newly installed sump pump. The 1st 2 companies I called refused to give me a ballpark estimate. They offered come to my home charging me $75 to look at my basement and show me a rate card on the price. The HANTSCH electrician was at my house during the schedule time.. He was very professional in his work and answering my many questions. The price came in line with the ball park estimate.. I was very happy with the work and offered to give the electrician a $20 tip which he declined to accept. I have found my electrician.
