He was fantastic! My house is old, so the plumbing is outdated and it's hard to find parts that fit. He found a terrific faucet, reasonably priced, and installed it quickly and at a reasonable rate. He cleared the clog quickly, also, and was very professional and helpful both times. He's outstanding, he's local, he's reasonably priced, and he sticks to his quotes. I would hire him again any time I need plumbing work.

I called David late on a Friday and he was there on Saturday morning. He did charge overtime since it was outside of his normal hours but his ability to work fast and quickly determine what the underlying issue was invaluable since we were in a time crunch. He called a friend to install the hot water heater on Monday and got a very fair price for that. His professionalism and knowledge were far superior to any plumbers that had come through our house previously. I will be booking him again in case any issues arise.

David practices forensic plumbing and he is very thorough when investigating. I have a long history with different plumbers who would show up tighten a valve or replace a pipe and leave me with a recurring leak and an unsolved problem. David is the only one who really cared enough to discover the source of the lower water pressure in our system. He showed up exactly when he said he would and he finished the job as he promised.

David was more thorough than the technician (who made four visits) was in diagnosing my malfunctioning dishwasher. The repairman insisted it was a clogged pipe. David quickly proved him wrong and the repairman was forced to refund all my money. It was actually the dishwasher that needed to be replaced, not anything to do with drainage. It was a bit pricey to have that all cleared up, but it solved a huge headache that had been going on for two weeks,

it went great.
David came out to see what needed to be done, charged us the quoted price, which was $600.00.  There was additional work to be done which was an additional $250.00 which was very reasonable for what he did.  He saved us a ton of money by fixing what we had rather than tellling us to buy a new system, which he said we may need down the road, but in the meantime, everything is working really well

we were very impressed with his work, and with him in general. We would definitely use him again.  IF we do need a new system, he will be our go to guy.

David is a personable, friendly professional, who knows his business and does an extremely  good job. From the first telephone contact, which came within a few hours of my calling him (it was a non-emergency situation - for emergencies his answering message gives a different number to reach him immediately) I realized he would be good. He asked me to email a picture of what needed to be done, and accommodated me with a next day appointment at a time that would be most convenient for me.
He called before coming over to let me know he was on his way, and arrived precisely on time. He looked at what needed to be done, got everything he needed out of his truck - in one trp, and had the old things out and the new things in in no time at all. Everything was done perfectly, with absolutely no mess whatsoever.
As it says on his website, and in his business description on Angie's List, he does mostly service work, and in fact the reason I chose him in the first place was that he does certain specific things in a certain defined area, and these matched my needs exactly. He was also able to give me some good advice on some tile work I was thinking about having done. The only surprise I got was the price he charged: much LESS than I thought it would be.
I can, and do, recommend him highly, and if it were possible to go higher than an "A" that's the grade he deserves.

Since there was no turn off valve for the water he had to shut down all the water for the house to make the repairs.  I had told him the maker of the system and on the way to my house he had picked up the parts he would need.  He had arrived exactly at the time promised and went to work immediately.  When he was finished he asked if I realized I was wasting a lot of hot water by having 5 gal per minute output instead of a 2.5.  I wondered why I always ran out of hot water so quickly.  He asked if I would like it replaced with a 2.5 and I agreed since I had one that was left by the Utility Company when they did a house inspection to save me energy.    Now when showering I do not run out of hot water even though the pressure is not as great I can live with it.
He also asked if I had any other problems and I mentioned my kitchen sink had an air aider on the faucet which was terrible.  He replaced it and also replaced the part that controlled the water pressure.  I no longer have to struggle to lift the handle up and down to get the pressure I required.

The good thing about David Howard was he responded to my leaving a voice message within an hour and got here in 45 minutes.
He had everything I needed and was very professional.  He was a nice guy and knew what he was doing.
There  might be an additional charge for parts that he replaced that he was not sure of the price.  He will e-mail that to me if there is.

He overcharged by about 50% and the leak persisted after he put a new seal on the toilet. I didn't care for his attitude.
Response from David Howard Plumbing
"The Job was preformed on 9/5/13 not this March 20th. I replaced parts IN the toilet & the supply tube that was leaking, not the Seal. The Ceiling was sagging when I got there. I also replaced the kitchen faucet, (I supplied it) & most of the drain pipes under that sink. Repaired a leak under the bath sink & the tub valve. I ordered parts at my expense for her for other work, not returnable. She never pd the balance of her $600.00 bill which I called her & emailed her several times. I also stopped in one day & spoke with her through her door. She said she would mail the money. She has never called me in those 10 months to complain or pay. I wish Angie's list could some how hold people responsible for there lies & untruths. It is to easy a platform for customers to run contractors names through the mud."

David was on time and quickly located the problem. He worked fast and neat! In addition to the original problem he also fixed a faucet leak in my other bathroom, and came back later that day to install a new kitchen faucet that I asked at the last minute. Definitely will call him again when/if I have any new problems.

I emailed David on Thursday around noon and got a call back from him in less than 10 minutes.  We arranged to have him come to our home the following day.  He arrived ahead of time and after looking at the shower and the part told us that the part we had been sold was not the correct part.  He was then able to take apart the shower handle, adjust it, clean it, and get it put back together and working properly.  He advised us before he came that since he is about 50 minutes away from our home, he would have to charge us for his driving time to and from our home, which we agreed to.  He was very thorough, very responsive, very polite, and took the time and effort to fix our problem.  I would not hesitate to call him again or recommend him.

Fantastic plumber - very knowledgeable and great customer service.  Third plumber I had to the house in 12 months.  I wouldn't even consider calling the other two back, and I expect to call David Howard back for any other plumbing problems I have.  He charges $100/hr plus parts and includes his travel time in the hourly charge, which seems reasonable - others charge a flat travel fee no matter far.  The first work I had done was in Nov 2012 on my boiler.  I had had another company in to service it and repair a zone valve; I noticed immediately after they left that I was getting a lot less heat.  I hadn't been thrilled with them, so I called David based on his Angie's List ratings.  He was able to come the next day, and determined that I had a faulty pressure relief valve and that my water feed wasn't working so there was very little water in the system and the pressure was way too high (FYI - very dangerous).  The previous plumber noticed the temp and pressure seemed off and replaced the gauge, which didn't fix the problem, but his only other thought was that the aquastat was bad; he didn't realize the other two issues.  I had since purchased a replacement aquastat and David agreed to install it even though that isn't actually plumbing work; the boiler ran fine all winter.  In June 2013, my sump pump stopped working over a Friday night and I got 3" of water in the basement.  I called David Saturday morning; he was over in 30 minutes and rapidly discovered the float was jammed - a very easy fix.  He only charged me for 1 hour even though he was here for at least 45 min making sure the pump was going to work and he had had to load a bunch of gear in his truck before he left home.  It was OT rates for Saturday, so total cost was $150, which I thought was very reasonable.  Bottom line: I recommend him without reservation.

One day we stopped having water. My husband checked everything inside the house. He couldn't figure it out. We went on Angie's list and saw David's name. We called and he returned our call within an hour.  He came to the house and determined that it was the well pump. He called an associate that he works with and both of them came back within 2 hours. They replaced the pump and everything was back in order. I found David very professional, honest and responsible. Michele B
