I thought that they were a little pricy though my husband did not think so. The work he did was fine and the guy was great. He answered all my questions. There was something else that I wanted and he gave me a written estimate for it. He was very good.

The project went fine. The work was well done and we are pleased with the result. Knowing that having a much longer power outage than the originally anticipated woudl negatively impact my home-based business, the electrician called in a helper and got the job done in just under 3 hours. But there were issues that made us uncomfortable. 1. The pricing negotiation as described above . 2. During this "negotiation", I asked what his hourly rates were since I had additional work that I would have liked to have done then and electricians usually charge more for the first hour and less for subsequent hours. He told me $95-150/hr. The $95/hr is for cash, moving wires, etc. To troubleshoot non-working plugs would be $125-135/hr and to move major lines (as in this job) $150/hr. That is not competitive in this areas which usually tops out at $125 for the first hour & $85/hr thereafter. SO if you use this provider, make sure it is a flat rate. 3. A key part of this job was to refasten the main trunk and the ancillary cable/tel wires. There was a dance required between the electrician and the carpenter who was making a repair and installing a copper trim piece on which the trunk would lie. The provider told me that the carpenter had agreed to do the fastening work. I asked if he had checked that out with the carpenter's boss who is in charge of this project. He said yes. Well, actually, he hadn't. And the contractor wanted another $200 for delays caused by the unexpected replacement of the trunk and also to do the fastening - which was not unreasonable - and we paid him the additional fee. When the electrician stopped by to pick up his check, he helped the carpenter for half an hour and left. Then the carpenter's boss came to help the carpenter and together they did a very good job.
Response from CANGIANNI ELECTRICAL INC
"I try and be as competitive as possible in the pricing department , I have been in business since May of 1990 and with over 20 years in business , I strive to make my customers feel they got what they paid for. I am the owner of the company and most people wouldn't mind paying a little more to have the owner do the entire job personally . Thank you."

Nick was courteous, conscientious. We had our concerns about the system. He was reassuring. He works quickly, cleans up. Completion/job was delayed because equipment from factory came late, one unit was defective. He took care of replacing it promptly. Everything seems to be working well.
