The smell of mold was overwhelming and this carpet was damp to the touch. The mold in the damaged rug made my eyes sting and gave me a sore throat. I asked the movers to dispose of it. It was too toxic to keep. I was able to get an insurance claim form emailed to me from Arpin, I filled it out, returned it, and there was no response. I sent emails asking for the status of my claim each month and again no answer. I only got a response when I threatened to write to the president of the company. That was almost a year after the move. I was then reimbursed for the broken wall sculpture and the missing shelves.
Arpin declined to cover the rug because I did not have it in my possession and I did not have the moving tag. It was too toxic to keep... it was damp and stinking. The rug was damaged in transit. It was in pristine condition when it left my house in CT.
