Run, don't walk! Stay away from this overpriced with rude customer service company. Long story short, wasted $3300.00 in a span of 3 days and A/C was still not fixed. If you're interested in details, read on... Our central A/C stopped working on 7/11/24 in the midst of a heat wave. Our usual A/C guy wasn't not available so we searched for an alternative and 20/20 Air came up first in Google search. Note to self, never pick from the top of the list. It's likely they paid to be on top of the search list and recover the cost by charging a premium over others. Technician came out the next day on 7/12. I wasn't home at the time but red flag number 1... My wife said he asked to use the bathroom as soon as he arrived and stayed in there for a good 20+ minutes. Whatever, if you have to go you have to go. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt. He finally got out and checked the system and indicated the system was low on refrigerant and recommended a cleaning as the coils were "dirty". I communicated to him over the phone that the system was just maintenanced back in March of this year and the coil should be clean, but he insisted on the coils being dirty and that was the root cause. He assured me that if system fails again he will come back and make good on it, unless there was a leak. 4lbs of refrigerant @$138/lb, $1200 and 48hrs later, A/C stopped working again on Sunday 7/14. The line was visibly frozen outside. Upon further inspection in the basement, the first technician forgot to put the filter back so the unit was running without a filter for 2 days. Called and got a call back within the hour. The lady indicated no one would be dispatched on Sunday so we scheduled an appointment for next day Monday 7/15. However, we were still in the middle of an unusual heat wave so I called back to see if there was any way to send someone out. The same lady was very unsympathetic and indicated we could call someone else and cancel the appointment for Monday in a very rude manner. Not having much choice, and wanting to have them "make good" on the first visit, we kept the appointment for next day. On Monday 7/15 another technician came out first thing in the morning. After accessing the situation he indicated there was a leak (duh). It was obvious they weren't going to make good on the first repair, and gave us 3 options: 1 - inject sealant with dye (only offers 75% guarantee) + cost of refrigerant ~ $1.7k 2 - Option 1 with one free return visit ~ $2.7k 3 - Isolation pressure test (no A/C for 2 weeks) and 10lb of Refrigerant ~ $5k Obviously options 2 and 3 were out of the question, and since option 1 offered 75% success rate with the sealant, we opted for it and crossed our fingers. He ended up charged the system with 8lb of refrigerant which brought the final cost for the day to $2k. 48 hours went by and guess what, the A/C stopped working again. Line was visibly frozen again outside. At this point we decided to cut our loses after wasted $3.3k on literally nothing in 3 days. Luckily our regular A/C guy was available and he came within the hour. Within the first 5 min of his arrival he found the potential culprit. He found compressor oil inside the unit, used soapy water to check for leaks and traced it back to the Schrader valve. Replaced it and re-charged the system with 5lbs of refrigerant and it's been working since. Total cost, $1200.00. Moral of the story, stick to companies you are familiar with, with good customer service, and good trouble shooting skills. I'm a fool for having them service my unit not once but twice. I would not have made this review had I had my A/C fixed, even at $3.3k. But their technicians should have been able to pin point the issue if they were competent and not try to over sell unnecessary services. Lessons learned. But run, don't walk, STAY AWAY FROM 20/20 AIR!!!! I'd give negative stars if I could.

The technician spliced two low voltage wires and replaced the part in about 15-20 minutes. During the visit he spent about another 20 minutes filling out paperwork and looking up parts. The technician had taken my credit card information before starting and had me sign for the work to be done. In total he spent an hour and 20 minutes at my home. When I returned to my office I looked up the part on line and found that the parts retailed for about $25. I called the owner of the company, Dale Friedly, and after explaining my dissatisfaction with the charges he agreed to refund half the charges. A week later I received a note in the mail from his wife staying that she reviewed everything and felt the charges were fair and that no refund would be issued.

I asked them to return due to the buzzing that now was going on in my vent and the fact that I saw the cable leading to the unit outside was frayed and in my opinion should have been retaped if they were charging me $179.  As I was explaining this to the woman on the phone, it was silent afterward.  She then didn't apologize but instead asked what I would like them to do.  I explained that for $179, I would like them to put the correct size filter in my vent and retape the cable for me as i felt should have been suggested or done the first time.  The same guy returned and said that the filter was "up to code" and that the developers built the duct incorrectly.  I explained that prior to his first visit, my vent didn't make that noise and he cut me off asking if it was cooling properly.  When I said it was, he seemed to be satisfied with that.  The technician continued to cut me off with anything I had to say about the filter not being the right size to the fact that even with the alternate filter he came with there's still a noise now that wasn't there before, he kept stating in a monotonous tone that there's nothing more he can do about it.
As for the outside cable with the frayed tape, I was informed that that was not part of his job and that the cable should not have been taped.  He offered to put new insulation on the approximately 5 foot cable for a cost of $350.
When I called their office back to complain and explain why not only did they not get a signed maintenance contract for me but that I would also never recommend their company due to the rudeness of her technician.  She only said that she was very surprised to hear this as her tech who by the way looked like he was 17, has been doing this for a year and a half and they never received a complaint.  She then pointed out that they don't concern themselves with the taping of the cables and I asked her why this wasn't pointed out when I first called to complain about it, she remained silent.  When I asked her if she was still there, she said she was but that she was reading something and that's why she was silent.
I still have the noisy vent although it's a little quieter than when he inserted the smaller vent.  These people are not very customer oriented but I feel are very focused on the up-sell of their more costly "services".  I would never recommend this company to anyone except possibly someone that I disliked a great deal...come to think of it, I don't know anyone I dislike that much to recommend 20/20 Air to.

They took about 4 days to install, with 2 workers there all the time, and then a third worker would sometimes come toward the end of the day. The lead worker always explained what they were doing, very neat, and professional. Even though in was late August 2010, it was still very hot working in the attic and they still stayed until 4:30 - 5:00 every day. The job was finished on a Friday night. There was a problem with the air purifier when the new system was first started. The lead worker said they would order a new part. We used the air conditioning a little bit during the next week and felt the kitchen/ family room was not as cool as the rest of the house. They came out to balance the air flow.  The part for the air purifier was installed about 3 weeks later. We did not use the A/C after this (it was the end of Sept. 2010). During the winter of 2011,  I saw 20/20 at a home show and talked to the owner and said we never had a final walk through due to the problem with the air purifier. He said to call in early summer (2011) and he would do the walk through with us. Early summer we used the A/C and still felt the kitchen/ family room was not as cool as the rest of the house. The owner came out with his service manager and agreed to add another register that would be in the family room. The service manager came back about a week later and added the new register. This made a huge difference to the cooling of this room. We are completely satisfied. The owner never hesitated about doing what ever it took to make sure we were happy with this system.

They found a mouse nest and removed it, they also found some bad wiring which they replaced. After they left I noticed that the unit wasn't cooling the air effectively. I called them back immediately and they came back the following Monday. He looked at the unit and told me that not enough power was getting to the machine. I called an electrician per his recommendation and the electrician told me that everything was fine with the flow of electricity. This alone showed incompetence on the repairman's part.

I called 20/20 back and told them about the electrician's findings. They sent the service manager out this time to take a look. Somehow he got the compressor to start and it ran for 4 days. After a few days of the weather cooling down and it not needing to kick on, apparently it caught on fire when it had to kick on again.

I had not known that it had caught on fire, the repairman found this after I called them to say it wasn't kicking on again. They offered to replace the condenser for another $3000.

I do not understand why the unit was operating fine until I had them come out to do preventative maintenance, and then afterwards it ends up catching on fire. I do not trust the company and would not recommend them to anyone else.

It's been a nightmare and it's still not corrected!! 20/20 AIR will not come to our home because we were "irrational". For many many days while in the shower, all soaped up, the water suddenly turned ice cold! My husband called 20/20 AIR and spoke to a lady stating our frustration. There was some annoyance but not irrational! At all times whenever either Friedly or any of his technicians came to our home, they were always treated with utmost courtesy

We were given a very thorough estimate compared to the three other companies we had worked with. Their price was fair and comparable. They arrived on time each day, very clean and professional. They completed the job when promised and left no trace of dirt/debris. We would never have known that someone had done any work in the house. The entire process was perfect.
