"We’re sorry you’re unsatisfied with your driveway. Being a small, local business, our team takes pride in our work and we feel particularly proud of of this project due to the challenges we faced during construction. Our team worked diligently to remove over 100 tons of concrete from your existing driveway and to hand dig a drywall. The issue you mention in your review is work we performed outside of our contracted scope of work. At the time of your estimate you had grass along the edge of your driveway, but you made the decision to pave up to the edge of your neighbors driveway. The small square you’re referring to at the edge of your driveway was necessary due to the condition of your neighbor’s driveway. It may seem irrelevant to the work we were hired for, but we went above the scope of work in your benefit to avoid future issues. The adjacent driveway was in such poor, brittle conditions, but we still had to match it’s grade. Meaning, we extended the edge of your driveway into theirs which had a small divot and uneven conditions. This is where the puddle is forming. Unfortunately, there’s nothing we can do about the condition of an adjacent driveway without repaving it as well. We made these decisions based on our over 40 years of paving experience after Mr. [Member Name Removed] marked out the new desired driveway edge. Feel free to give me a call and I’d be happy to answer any further questions you may have."
Gina (the owner) was responsive and prompt. She arrived when she said she would, measured the job, and provided me with a quote on the spot. The quote was very reasonable and I decided to go ahead with the job. We agreed on a start date. One issue I was concerned with was an area next to the driveway that I had just planted a new garden in. I explained to Gina that I wanted the workers not to disturb this area, and be careful on the grass with their equipment. She agreed to pass this info onto the crew. The crew arrived exactly when they were scheduled to, and began work immediately. The foreman approached me and we discussed several issues, including the new garden are.
The job was finished in the early afternoon, all material was cleaned up, and the garden and grass were intact. I was very pleased with the quality of their work, their professionalism, and attention to my concerns. Gina stopped by around noon to see how thing were going, and to ask if I had any concerns.
Overall it was a very positive experience, and I would recommend NE Paving to anyone considering a new driveway. Gina is a pleasure to work with, explains the entire process, with absolutely no pressure. A+ for the entire team!
After a week or so, the representative came out to see if I was satisfied and to look over the job.
They first made two cuts across the driveway at each end of the crumbling section and loaded it into the dump truck. Then after leveling the base material, another truck arrived with hot blacktop material, loaded it into the laying machine and installed the new material.
They then vibrated and rolled the new section, cleared all debris, swept the entire driveway with a gas blower packed up all equipment and left after telling me the hot coating tanker would arrive within the hour to completely coat the entire driveway.
It arrived as planned and the job was completed in about a further 45 minutes. The site was left perfectly clean and the finish on the driveway looked great.
This was the most satisfying experience I have ever had with any contractor. I highly recommend this company and have already passed their name on to several people who are considering having similar work done.
