In April of 2019 we contracted with Northeast Paving to take away our concrete driveway and pave an asphalt driveway. Although it looks so much better, there were some problems - they left a small square at the bottom of our driveway unfinished and an area clearly not done correctly because it pools water. When you pay over $8,000, it's not unreasonable to expect it to look great. When I questioned Gina about it she went on about the neighbors driveway being brittle and having to repair where it cracked. (what that has to do with what she was paid for is beyond me) she said she's come back and acknowledged the driveway was not finished. I continued to contact her via text (all saved) for FIVE MONTHS with no response. Only when I called the office and left a voice mail with her answering service that I would have to resort to small claims did she respond. When she did, she was completely unprofessional, didn't acknowledge any of our previous conversations. She finally agreed to come and look at it, and like a magician disappeared. She'll take your money and not own when she's wrong and not completed the job as agreed. We unfortunately will have to go the legal route with this unprofessional contractor. I would NEVER recommend her to ANYONE. Go elsewhere, there are enough contractors in the area - she's not the only game in town.
Response from Northeast Paving LLC
"We’re sorry you’re unsatisfied with your driveway. Being a small, local business, our team takes pride in our work and we feel particularly proud of of this project due to the challenges we faced during construction. Our team worked diligently to remove over 100 tons of concrete from your existing driveway and to hand dig a drywall. The issue you mention in your review is work we performed outside of our contracted scope of work. At the time of your estimate you had grass along the edge of your driveway, but you made the decision to pave up to the edge of your neighbors driveway. The small square you’re referring to at the edge of your driveway was necessary due to the condition of your neighbor’s driveway. It may seem irrelevant to the work we were hired for, but we went above the scope of work in your benefit to avoid future issues. The adjacent driveway was in such poor, brittle conditions, but we still had to match it’s grade. Meaning, we extended the edge of your driveway into theirs which had a small divot and uneven conditions. This is where the puddle is forming. Unfortunately, there’s nothing we can do about the condition of an adjacent driveway without repaving it as well. We made these decisions based on our over 40 years of paving experience after Mr. [Member Name Removed] marked out the new desired driveway edge. Feel free to give me a call and I’d be happy to answer any further questions you may have."

Went excellent, they installed top grade base and were careful with the sprinkler system on both sides. Only complaint was the Topsoil used was very good, but to finely screened. Guess it needs time for grass to root and the soil to dry enough to harden enough to support footprints and later the lawn tractor.

Two thumbs up for Northeast Paving! The owner, Gina, returned my call promptly and made an appointment to come for an estimate. She arrived at the time we agreed, assessed the job, made a few good suggestions that I hadn't thought of, and provided the estimate on the spot. We had already gotten another estimate, which, I should add, took about a week to receive. The estimates were about the same dollar amount, but Northeast's included Gina's suggested improvements. We liked Gina's friendly and professional approach, so accepted her proposal. She said it would be a few weeks until they would be able to do the work. About a week later, she called to say there was an opening and asked if they could start the next day. A crew of 5 or 6 arrived on schedule the next morning and went right to work. They knew exactly what was expected and invited me to watch. They were outgoing and friendly and freely answered all the questions I asked. The crew was cleaning up by mid-afternoon, when Gina arrived to inspect it, see if we were satisfied, and go over how we should treat it while it was curing. It was an impressive operation and they did an excellent job. I want to emphasize what a pleasure it was to deal with these people. It was one of the best experiences I've ever had with a contractor.

Gina came to give us an estimate, she explained every aspect of the job and answered all our questions, very friendly and professional. We had 2 more estimates done both were more expensive than Northeast Paving, that is not why we selected them, it was a factor but we liked the way Gina presented her company and provided the details of the work to be done. She called and said they had an opening earlier than we had schedule so we accepted the earlier date.  They showed up as scheduled and did an excellent job, great attention to detail. I would Recommend and use them again.

Gina (the owner) was responsive and prompt. She arrived when she said she would, measured the job, and provided me with a quote on the spot. The quote was very reasonable and I decided to go ahead with the job. We agreed on a start date. One issue I was concerned with was an area next to the driveway that I had just planted a new garden in. I explained to Gina that I wanted the workers not to disturb this area, and be careful on the grass with their equipment. She agreed to pass this info onto the crew. The crew arrived exactly when they were scheduled to, and began work immediately. The foreman approached me and we discussed several issues, including the new garden are.

The job was finished in the early afternoon, all material was cleaned up, and the garden and grass were intact. I was very pleased with the quality of their work, their professionalism, and attention to my concerns. Gina stopped by around noon to see how thing were going, and to ask if I had any concerns.

Overall it was a very positive experience, and I would recommend NE Paving to anyone considering a new driveway. Gina is a pleasure to work with, explains the entire process, with absolutely no pressure. A+ for the entire team!

Northeast's manager came to my home promptly and gave me an estimate for doing the work needed. We agreed to go ahead and a date was arranged. The company came to my site as planned and removed the large section of broken driveway, laid new asphalt and then they coated the whole driveway with hot bitumen. They cleaned the site and left it looking great.

A representative came out a few weeks earlier to give me an estimate. She was on time and explained the whole process. She encouraged me to watch the process, which I did. They were in the area doing other paving jobs, so they were able to give a few days notice. The 4-5 man crew were very professional as they worked. As I have a small driveway it went quickly. The only time they had any down time was waiting for the asphalt truck to deliver the load. The whole job took 3-4 hours. I was able to watch nearly the whole process as I had never seen this done before.
After a week or so, the representative came out to see if I was satisfied and to look over the job.

I met with the owner manager of the company at my home, obtained a bid to replace 27 feet of my driveway and to hot coat the whole 300 feet. I accepted the bid on the spot on 7.19.2011. The owner manager told me she would try to have the job finished within the week. The next day I received a call from one of her crew asking if it would be O.K. to start work on our driveway within the hour. In less than one hour, a crew with a front end loader, a diesel roller, a dump truck and a blacktop laying machine arrived on sight.

They first made two cuts across the driveway at each end of the crumbling section and loaded it into the dump truck. Then after leveling the base material, another truck arrived with hot blacktop material, loaded it into the laying machine and installed the new material.

They then vibrated and rolled the new section, cleared all debris, swept the entire driveway with a gas blower packed up all equipment and left after telling me the hot coating tanker would arrive within the hour to completely coat the entire driveway.
It arrived as planned and the job was completed in about a further 45 minutes. The site was left perfectly clean and the finish on the driveway looked great.

This was the most satisfying experience I have ever had with any contractor. I highly recommend this company and have already passed their name on to several people who are considering having similar work done.
