Awful experience. I wondered why when my partner buys a volvo from Autowerkes, the car is in the shop again and again for the same reason... nothing seemed to ever be repaired correctly. But I was told that "it was the car" not the repair guy(s).  So I decided to buy a really fast, rare 5 speed manual, 2004 T-5 from Autowerkes.  Before I purchased it, they said they would go through the car and make sure it was good to go... meaning brakes, tires, etc.  The red flags started happening when I'd call a month after I bought the car with a flat tire.  I got a million reasons from Autowerkes... like " you must of run over a nail, it's the way your driving...well it's hard to tell.... no telling how you're handling the car around curbs..."  OMG.  Just fix the friggin thing! They didn't want to buy a new rim or / a tire.  They cheaped out by gluing the tire on to the rim with gooey black paste.  Three times I went back to the shop for the tire was going flat weekly and three times they looked for that "nail" they were hoping to find.  But in the end, the tire didn't fit the rim, and they had to grind down the rim.  Nice.  Now what's going to happen when I get all new fours ??? Will a new tire fit the old ground down rim?!  But 4 times!!! I had to spend my time and other people's time in getting me  back and forth to the shop for the same tire, for which they couldn't fix right the first tim
The car was a pigsty when i took ownership.  It's my fault really.  Autowerkes owner took us all out for a ride in it and focused on the performance. It does perform, but when I got the car home and really looked at the interior, it was disgusting....scum, grease, old food, it looked like the person who owned it drove it hard, used it up, and didn't take much pride of ownership in it. The excuse I heard from Autowerkes was that I wanted the car 3 days earlier than they had planned to give it to me.  hmmm...but who knew it was that disgusting inside?
The next thing that took me schlepping the car back to the shop was the A/C. When it was under warranty, they'd come out, put their hand over the vents... I wanted to scream...it's HOT AIR... hello?  But they had every excuse in the book... it's that you have the inside air button turned off....ph, oh... I think I feel cool air..."  not!   3 times for A/C I took my car to them to fix.  3 times they couldn't fix it right... Then they purchased a "new" compressr, installed it and they botched that up! I go back in ... there are wires dangling...not hooked up right.   He hooks the wires up.
I drive the car with my two children down to NJ, get to Stamford on a hot day.  The A/C stops working and the compressor ceases up, rendering my serpentine belt to break, and the car dies on the highway.
After I got safely back home I called Autowerkes, and I got the same run around even after I had Volvo of Stamford analyze the car and give me an estimate, Autowerkes said "Welll...... I'll have to see it....they're out to look for fault.... I can't say it was the A/C.... "
My gut told me to keep the car in Stamford and that if I towed it back up to New London, Autowerkes, I'd be in the same boat I was that near fatal day.  Autowerkes will botch the job and I could be left in a crisis on the highway with my children again. I didn't want to pay $135/ph at Volvo of Stamford, so I took amy business to  Imported Cars of Stamford (ICS).  What an excellent experience I had there.  Read my stellar review of them.
Also I was told by ICS, that since my left front  tire was leaking around the rim for the 6 months, where Autowerks tried to fix it 3 times and didn't get it right, that it's the reason why the is bald on the outside tread, and it's is throwing my car out of alignment.
So. Even though Autowerkes said they'd only charge me partial rate for fixing the A/C compressor problem, I paid to have my car fixed by quality workman who did the job correct the first time.
I can never trust Autowerkes again with my car, for my car holds precious cargo.  What they did right? They sold a car only a grand over book value. What they did wrong? skimped and shirked the duty to make the car a safe vehicle, not performing quality work while the car was under warranty.  Now that the car is out of warranty, and I'd be paying for every hour of labor I'm wondering whether they would dig in and go a good job... but no.  There's no way I'm going to give them a second chance.
