"This is a fake review from my competitor and former employee. Don't believe everything you read."
"The customer called at the end of her move and addressed the issues that made her unhappy and she was promptly refunded via Paypal to her satisfaction. However, then I received a notice that her check bounced due to insufficient funds. Basically, at this point I had already refunded her and I actually paid the customer for us to conduct her move, if you can believe that. So I went to the New Haven Police Department with her bounced check and requested that she be charged with a felony due to the amount. The officer handled the initial investigation and reached out to he customer to see why she hasn't made good on her bad check. The customer admittedly said she did not have enough money for her move and other things came up that made her account balance insufficient. The Police Officer gave [Member Name Removed]24 hours to pay the bill in its entirety before a warrant was issued. The customer reluctantly paid the next day, but clearly tried to do anything she could in the meantime to get a free move."
"Dear [Member Name Removed], I apologize for the way your move was conducted. It was our busiest day of the year and we were several hours backed up on every afternoon job as a result of complications from the morning. By us showing up rather later, we obviously got off on the wrong foot and your opinion of the rest of the move was tainted a result. We tried our best to compensate for the damage based on the policies that were signed off on. We recommend purchasing additional insurance through the link offered on our website if the basic insurance policies are not adequate for an individual's needs."
"This is equivalent to owning a retail store and watching a customer "shop" for a couple hours, only to end up walking out the front door with several hundred dollars of merchandise without paying for anything. You see the person on the security cameras the whole time and you know their intent to steal is clear from the second they step foot on your premesis. As a business owner or store manager you do everything you can to stop the thief on the way out and attempt to collect payment. While on the retail side, the act of theft is very cut and dry, the same act of theft in the service industry is much harder to prosecute, and thus the thief thinks they can get away the same crime easier. for some reason, despite a blatant act of thievery, we as a society allow the culprit to make excuses that legitimize the stealing of a service in their mind. The thief often makes every excuse possible in both cases as to why they didn't pay or couldn't afford the product, but with a service they actually blame the business and try to justify the theft by saying the business actually did something wrong. While this is a very small percentage of our customer base, it does happen and as a business owner I will of course do what is necessary to protect my product and people to make sure customers are paying for the service. it's sad that small businesses often have little to no recourse regarding theft of a service. Ultimately though, the business hopes to collect payment at some point down the road through the court system. the bottom line is a thief is a thief regardless of what industry the thief is stealing from. I personally do not tolerate it as a business owner, despite the number of often horrible or ridiculous things the thief might say as an excuse to justify not paying for the service. the customer will say or do anything in this case, and them leaving a bad review and bad-mouthing the company only further justifies the act in their minds."
