I’ve used this guy for a lot over the years. I have nothing to compare his pricing. I’m happy with him and I’m happy with his price. He gets on the job right away especially when it’s something that would cause problem if it wasn’t working. He does the job completely. He doesn’t leave stuff all around, he is very neat. He is very prompt. I don’t have much in a way of being able to compare his prices because we don’t use anybody else but we’re happy with his prices.

Never responded to my email request made on 11/12. Following a phone call to the service on the 16th, service was scheduled for Friday Nov. 20. The problem was diagnosed and repaired in less than 30 minutes. Service was professional and price was spot on for the replacement part. Will absolutely call again if needed.

Rich arrived on time and promptly removed the back freezer wall. He needed to borrow my hairdryer to defrost the wires and coils. A refrigerator repairman who doesn't own a heat gun should have been my first sign that things were not about to go well. His first visit was quick because he advised defrosting it would give me about a month's time before it stopped working again. He hasitly diagnosed that it was a circuit board and the defrost cycle was no longer functioning. It would take a week to get the part and I would not need to take time off from work as he could make me his last appt at 5:30 pm and I was appreciative of that. I asked for an estimate of the price and he did not know. I asked if it was over $200 and he said yes, the part is expensive. I asked if it would be under $300 and he replied and quot;underand quot;. I handled that pricing badly but I was anxious to get it fixed before the holidays. Please note that Rich does not follow up with you, you need to always contact him first by phone (his answering service). I later texted his cell because he called me once to get my address. His cell phone doesn't accept messages (mailbox is full). He came back over 1 week later with the circuit board and replaced it and quickly left. No waiting to see if the refrigerator cycled correctly or not or even see if he hooked up the ice maker correctly. Upon the first visit--he did not. He gave me the bill of $359 way over his estimate but I paid it in good faith.
One month later, I found the refrigerator did not sound right (he told me I just got used to the sound) and the original symptoms appeared. He told me his work and the circuit board was under warranty. Yet to his credit, he did come out within the week after my and quot;it's not workingand quot; call but again borrowed my hairdryer. I asked him why doesn't he have his own equipment and he replied and quot;You are the first customer to ask me that.and quot; Of course, after he was done, the hairdryer overheated and was broken. He left after defrosting the fridge, and said he had to contact Whirlpool to obtain more information on how to repair it. I contacted him after a week, and he replied that he will replace the new circuit board and another wire the next Thursday. However, I was not going to be home that one night. We made an appt for Tuesday (3 working days later), right before Thanksgiving. When I got home at 9:00pm Thursday night, there was an envelope on my porch with two checks, my $359 back and $45 for my hairdryer. A note that I did not see at first (on back of an empty receipt) said he felt I was not happy with him so here's my money back and and quot;Good Luckand quot;. Thanks a lot, Rich! Right before the holidays with a broken refrigerator with now only medication in it. I believe he knew he was not making any money on my repair and left me without any recourse. A request for more information as to what the problem was and more importantly, could this be fixed, went unanswered.

Richard DiScotto was recommended to me by the local appliance store. I had a problem with the Maytag washing machine making noise. Richard uses a professional answering service so it's nice to have a human being to talk with, returns call promptly, is always on time for appointments, diagnosed the machines problem, and gave me a realistic estimate to compare fix or replace. I opted for a new motor and fix my old machine. I like the features that aren't available anymore due to all the safety devices currently mandated. (No children at home.)
I have already recommended Richard to others and I think you would be happy too. He is a gem, providing profession services personally, versus the randomness of corporate technicians. I suggest you call him when you need repairs.

The time frame was around 2-4pm however i called in around 3:30 to make sure i had the date right. I got a call closer to 5pm letting me know that he would be a little late and he did apologize for the wait (this is the reason for C in punctuality).

When he came he was very kind and professional and solved the issue in about 5 minutes. He appears to be an honest repairman. It was a rather simple fix that i had overlooked during my own troubleshooting but i still appreciate that someone came out to take care of my issue in an honest straight-forward manner.
He only charged me for a service call which is very considerate. I just feel that $100 for a very simple fix was still a painful pill to swallow. I should have confirmed the minimum fee prior to creating the appointment and i understand that. I am unsure of how this compares to other companies, but i would give them all a C for price anyway because i don't believe in charging this rate for this problem, although i could understand ~ $70.
Overall i feel i would recommend this person and their services. They will be honest with you and only charge you for what needs to be done. That is peace of mind in itself and worth making a note of.

When an appliance breaks down I live in dread of a huge bill. I realize that Rich's not billing us for his visit is not typical but his integrity in fixing the dryer restored my faith in honest repair people. Over a week later the dryer continues to heat up as it should and we have had no problems with it what so ever.

Very unhappy. First diagnosis was that a major repair was needed, when the actual problem was with the thermostat. I insisted that we try a temporary thermostat to test the situation and sure enough, the part was small and less expensive. I found the company to be hard to contact, didn't get around to my small part as quickly as when they thought it was the bigger, pricier repair. Wouldn't use them again.

THIS WAS DISGUSTING! I MEAN THE PRICE. EVERYTHING ELSE WAS DONE REALLY WELL. WE HAVE A 2000 DOLLAR STOVE, AND IT WAS VERY DISAPPOINTING TO FIND OUT THAT IT WOULD COST 600 DOLLARS TO FIX IT.
