DJC Construction

Subs - insulators, electrical and plumbing were all awful. No good comments for any of them. DJC work was shoddy and not professional at most times - had to have 5K worth of repairs to sheetrock, electircal, kitchen install etc completed by another contractor. We have sheetrock screws showing through, crown molding falling off, doors that do not shut properly, lights that do not work properly. Would not show up for days due to other jobs or lack of help. owner is a nice guy but not impressed with work or professionalism. Would not hire nor recommend. They work on a lot of mulifamily homes where the quality is not needed as renters will just destroy and you can tell. When presented with a antique colonial where we wanted and were willing to pay for quaity work we did not get it. Did not hire them to complete second floor projects and remaining rooms on first floor.

Dave Cooney was the Owner/Estimator for a replacement roofing job on our 63 year old Cape Cod home. Though he was unable to make our first appointment he did call to say so and set up an alternate time. Upon recieving an estimate for our home we were pleased with the amount in dollars but were leery of the price, (cheaper than most others), but were heartened when I checked out the materials used and no records of poor preformance, and the kicker was DJC Const. did 2 things no one else ever offered.1st a cash discount and 2nd, and to me, more importantly no money until the job is completed. In other words don't take $2500 of my money and not show up for 8 weeks or ever again for that matter. Dave ran a 3 man crew, Brian and Elton were his employees. All were pleasant and matter of fact about the job. As a truck driver I know a thing or 2 about language and I never heard a single off color joke or a 4 letter word from any of them the whole time. The entire job was completed in 2 days with plenty of Ice and Water Shield, Vapor barrier, and 30 year Architectural Shingles. The cleanup was complete along with the rolling magnet to pick up old nails. This home has 3 dog house dormers on the front and a full dormer on the rear.
