+ -1 moreIt took a few weeks for the repair, but that was indicated up front. I am very happy with the work Paul did, and would recommend him to anyone who needs their grandfather clock repaired. We now have the beautiful chime back.

Additionally he shared information for us to keep things going well until his next maintenance visit. We highly recommend Paul Jahnke and look forward to seeing him again.
Description of Work: Our grandfather clock had never been serviced. It is 22 years old and started having issues. We had not maintained it, mostly due to such poor reviews of local clock people.

I have had other "clock repair men" into the house to work on the clock who wanted to replace the mechanism immediately and left the house without getting the clock working. The CLOCK DOCTOR took that approach soon after looking at the clock. Mr Jahnke has advised me of the level of wear in the clock which I understand. He indicated that clock may last a few more years before the overhaul is needed. If you want to have peace of mind and confidence in the skill of the clock man, I stongly recommend Mr. Jahnke to work on your clocks The clock in question is: Ethan Allen westminster chimes, circa 1975, manufactured in West Germany, grandfather clock
Description of Work: Mr. Jahnke arrived a few minutes early. He explained my options in a clear and understandable manner and commenced to work on the clock. He pointed out the main problems with the clock as he proceeded. The grandfather clock is about 40 years old and it has continued in service during most of the time. Mr Jahnke repaired, adjusted and lubricated the clock and within a short time the clock was chimming again. It is evident that he knows the workings of a clock very well. I have complete confidence in his technical skill and his honesty. He is the first clock repair man we have engaged where I felt he really was interested in getting the clock working more than than he was looking for a big pay day. I am sure the day will come when I will have to ask him to do major repairs to the clock mechanism.

+ -1 morePaul Jahnke is the consummate professional! He came to our home in October, looked at the clock and then gave us various options as to how to get it running again. We chose the option of replacing the entire internal clock mechanism so that it wold be like a brand new clock. Pal is extremely detailed and meticulous. He took his time inspecting our clock and explaining to us the options. Today, he returned and installed our new mechanism and the clock runs like new. He never left any tools or equipment in an inappropriate place. His attention to detail and his meticulous work ethic prevents him from doing that. We are so thrilled that our clock is back and we will continue to use Paul Jahnke, Grandfather Time, for all of our future servicing and tune-up needs. If you have a Grandfather Clock, or other timepiece, that needs repairing, I would highly recommend Paul. You will not be disappointed.
Description of Work: Paul replaced the entire internal clock mechanism of our 34 year old Grandfather Clock, which hadn't worked in years.
