.I signed up for Angies List specifically to get a review and recommendation of a person to install a gas fireplace log set. I located what appeared to be a reputable company and then I called Alliance Plumbing Services LLC. I spoke with a gentleman who identified himself as the owner. We made arrangements to meet at my house on Monday and review the project. It was a gas log insert I wanted hooked up. The date and time of the meeting came and went. It was a Friday. Shortly after he didn't show up I called and he stated that he was tied up and would try and meet on the following Monday. He ended up calling me on Sunday and asked if I was home and if he could come by. Not wanting to miss the opportunity I said come on over Upon meeting him I comment that I had found his number on Angie's List. His response took me a bit by surprise. He stated and quot; You know many business owners write there own reviews and that Angie's List is not that great.and quot; I guess I should have taken his comment more seriously. He walked around my house and was very unsure about the instal. I accompanied him out to his truck to get a tape measure. He told me that this was not his truck and that his guys make a mess of things and he can never find anything when he needs it. After a lot of help measuring with him he told me he would give me a call the next day with a quote and would send me a written quote a few days afterward. I never got the call or the quote. I called and left a few messages and on my third call he finally picked up. When pressed about the quote he threw out the price of $1200.00 and said he would send the quote in a few days. I never got the quote and have not heard form him since to see if he was ever interested in doing the job. I ultimately contacted Superior Fireplace in Southington, CT. The quoted me a price of 800 and then stuck to it. They completed my gas line and my fireplace install on the day they said they would and were very easy to work with. I am a police investigator by trade and apologize if this was to much detail for Angie's List. I hope no one else waste their time with Alliance Plumbing. He was way over price and had zero customer service or follow through. In my line of work when you tell someone your going to do something you do it. I guess Alliance Plumbing never heard of that concept.

FOUR MONTHS LATER AND ALL IS WELL..... I HAVE RECEIVED MANY COMPLIMENTS ON THE NEW FAUCET AND HANDLES. HE CHOSE THE FAUCET STYLE, AND I WAS PLEASED THE SINK IS VERY OLD AND HE HAD TO REMOVE OLD and quot;DIFFICULT TO REMOVE RUSTED ONand quot; PARTS WHICH TOOK CONSIDERABLE TIME AND EFFORT. HE WAS DILIGENT AND PATIENT DESPITE THE CHALLENGE. HIS PRICE WAS FAIR, ESPECIALLY FOR THE TIME HE SPENT WORKING ON THE OLD SINK. HE ARRIVED ON TIME AND WAS PLEASANT AND PROFESSIONAL. HE EXPLAINED EVERYTHING HE WAS GOING TO DO AND WHY. EDUCATING ME AS WELL AS PUTTING IN THE NEW HARDWARE. HE ALSO GAVE ME SOME TIPS ON CONVERTING TO GAS FOR OUR HEATING SYSTEM....WHICH WE PLAN ON DOING DOWN THE ROAD.
