This was one superb job. The first step was the installation of the new oil tanks. A neat professional well planned job. The second step was the removal of the residual oil from the old tank and pumping it into the new tanks. The third step was the exact location of the underground tank. Wallingford does not preserve house plans for more than 2-3 years. This underground tank dated from 1973. Contractor made all the necessary contacts: town fire marshal, 'before you dig', pumper truck to remove the washings from the old tank. Old tank was uncovered, washed out and the washings pumped into the tanker for disposal. The old tank ws then removed under the eye of a representative of the Wallingford Fire Departemnt. Great care was taken to minimize damage to the grass around the excavation. A sample of earth was taken from beneath where the tank had been. This sample will be analyzed for oil residue. The hole was filled with clean fill, the area leveled and top soil spread over the area, whech was then re-seeded. We wre totally satisfied with all aspects of this job. (You need a new catagory: "Oil tank removal and replacement" or something similar)
