We had a reputable mason/chimney guy come, who reported that the roofer had cut the flashing to the existing chimney, and it was not fixable. We now have to replace the entire chimney, which is very, very costly. There may be other issues with the roof as well. This was an entirely preventable problem, had the chimney flashing been addressed properly at the time of the roofing installation. There is now additional damage in the house as a result of the leak. Fixing the damage is costing us over $8000, plus getting another roofer to fix other problems with the new roof.
We are so disappointed, as this roofer came highly recommended by our contractor.
