"OMG: Cannot tell you where this complaint stands. This customer went on Angie's list when their was "NO Charge" to make comments!! It was free!! Back in 2006 when Angie started this site!! Now they charge (Angies List) customers a real change!. Big TIME CHARGES!! Just to find another advertiser, again and again! And they can from another State! You can get a contractor from New York, NY or from upstate Mass. and not even know it. Be careful! Might pay twice what the job is worth! Said today with the web (cut off)"
- The roof was installed in one day
- The bay window also had a small shingle roof installed
- the clapboards around it were damaged, and the installer denied any responsibility
- the house was recently painted and therefore we knew they were in good shape beforehand
- no rake edge was installed
- We had no idea what rake edge was-our landscaper pointed out that it wasn't installed
- the installer then told us that we agreed to not put in on-he said it wasn't necessary on a new roof
- We had no idea what rake edge was-and we did not say we didn't want it
- I had to touch up paint on the side of the house because workmen scratched the shingles and foundation several times
- The thing that really got us was that we were dismissed with an excuse each time. The installer would not accept any responsibility with the job done at our house. He would only say that he did and good job
- I hired a contractor to install the rake edge and fix the clapboards at my own expense($500.00)
- I now have to hire someone to paint the newly installed clapboards (once again, at my expense-$?)
"When job was done, contract stated that no rake was to be installed as it only comes in white or dark brown. Usually trim on houses are white, sometimes brown. However the trim on Mr. DesRoches' home was a color that the rake does not come in. Also most roofing contractors do not put any rake trim on at all. Only drip edge which is only white behind the gutters which cannot be seen from the ground. We, Rick's Roofing and Siding, did go out three times and the only problems the customer had was to do with his siding, which we did not install. Also had before pictures that were shown to Bill, which showed that his siding problems existed prior to the roof installation. And we went by a year after and no other work was done by any other contractor. Further rake edge cannot be installed after roof is done as it goes under shingle. Nor does it need to be done with only one layer of shinge. Everything was done to satisfy customer, and never a problem with the roof job. Only existing problems customer had with siding, before and after roof was done. Also had before pictures that were shown to Bill that confirmed"
"Did have a hard time with this customer. As did the heating contractor, and two other contractors that were doing work at that time. When the customer complained about the trim that came off after the ice daming, which was the real cause of the problem, I paid another contractor, of her choice to do the repair. What the customer does not mention is that I did pay for the repairs within 2 day's of her call."
