Exceptional value for the quality of service provided. Their pricing was remarkably affordable, yet their capability and efficiency were unmatched. They were punctual, quick, and incredibly friendly—a winning combination that makes them stand out from the rest.

This review is long overdue. I hired them to move me from my old apartment in Bridgeport to my newly purchased condo in Stratford. Had spoken with the owner Erin and expressed concern over a couch that has exposed wood panelling, a bed frame that was already slightly bent and needed to be disassemble, and the mattress cover that I needed help removing so the mattress could be rolled up like giant tootsie roll. She assured me that none of these items would be damaged, and furthermore that her guys would follow all of my instructions. Moving day came, 3 guys arrived: Carlos, Q, and a shorter guy whose name I can't remember. They walked the apartment with me, and I pointed out the 3 items of major concern. They took a few boxes with them to the truck, and were to return with the furniture wraps. They didn’t. Against my , Carlos along with the short one took out the couch unwrapped, placed it on its face, pushed it back and forth across the filthy, dirty hallway floor, carried it down the stairs to the second floor all while scratching and chipping the wood paneling. At some point, Carlos and the short one got "lost" in the building (along with my couch) supposedly looking for the front entrance even though I had already explained its inaccessibility from where we were. Instead of helping me take off the mattress cover, they decided to take down the mattress (handling it with their bare hands), and nearly took the bed frame fully assembled which I blocked them, and took it apart. Needless to say the mattress cover was torn. As in previous reviews, the crew got "lost" on the way to the new location due to GPS's "incorrect" directions to my condo even though the street numbers were large and emblazoned on the sign outside the complex. In the middle of all of these shenanigans, Q got it in his low IQ head that I was interested in him. Apparently, Mr. Q must look at his boss’s clients as potential conquests. Given that 4 people were present (myself and the 3 knuckleheads) a job that should've taken no more than 1 - 1.5 hours to complete somehow took 3 at a cost of close to $900 total. In addition, I had to make 3 additional trips by myself in order to fully complete the move. I had articulated all of this to Erin during her follow up call regarding my experience. I expressed my disappointment. That her movers didn’t follow any of my instructions as she assured me; whereby my furniture was ruined. She assured me that a furniture restorer friend of hers would fix my couch. He dropped by, and took it personal that I told him to move his vehicle to a visitor spot so it doesn’t get towed. He removed the wood staining from the panel and he was to return to fix it. Never did. And that’s why I canceled the check. Best $30 cancellation fee I’ve ever spent. Stay away. Very far away from this company.

Please beware of this moving company and get a personal reference for your next mover! We hired Collegian for an in town move. Our experience was so horrible that I cannot believe it. We assumed a minimum level of professionalism and there was none. 1. During the estimate we were told the truck would make two trips. The team was so disorganized that it took them all day to fill the truck one time and much was left behind. We had to hire a handyman with a truck to move the items that did not fit in the truck the following Monday. 2. At the beginning of the day, the foreman and I walked through I explained what exactly needed to be moved from the house, basement and garage. I clearly marked all items in the garage. I had to ask about items that were not being packed so many times that it was like we never had the conversation. Some of the movers worked the earlier part of the day and others the whole day or afternoon. There was NO communication between the different groups and I was repeatedly asked the same questions by different people, and still there was plenty left behind. 3. They damaged the door jams of the doorway going up the stairs. There was obvious paint chips all over the floor. I had to repair the everything before the sale of our house closed. The broke miscellaneous items; foot on antique table, trim piece off of an antique mirror, they moved the table saw and threw it back in the garage not assembled properly. 4. We moved our expensive TV ourselves so that we did not have to worry about any damage. Without asking, they took the liberty of moving the tv from where we had it safely stored to lay it on the bed. I have not yet had time to unpack to plug to make sure it works. 5. There was basic oversight for this move that DID NOT HAPPEN. My new neighbors all commented that I seemed to have hired the worst movers. I had relied on these Yelp reviews to choose this mover. I see the review from Marc P. on 1/7/22, and wish I had taken the 'supposed' outlier review more seriously. 6. I spoke to the team, and they gave me a slight discount. This was offset by the fact that I had to hire a handyman with a truck to help move what did not fit into the truck. They offered to send a repairman to look at the broken items. I will will believe when I see it.

Collegian movers did an excellent job. Their employees were punctual, worked very hard, and were very pleasant and respectful people. Their quote was reasonable, and even though we extended the move by one day and needed more movers, they were still able to come UNDER the higher range of the total estimate for the move. I would highly recommend hiring Collegian.

Priced the job at $1,100, a few days before our scheduled move date the price gets increased to $1,800. The morning of our scheduled move the crew shows up and says that they need more guys and don't lift a finger. I start to move items from the second floor to the first floor for them, and ultimately the team leader says he has to go (without doing anything) and says that another crew is on their way. Well, that wasn't true. We follow up with dispatch and they come out to check out the job to see why it was such a big job that required more movers. It was ultimately determined that the job was a standard job and should have been done by the original team without any objections. My wife and I were left stranded without any options for the rest of the day. The next day a new crew came to the house - essentially the same crew with a different team leader. The crew and new team leader were very nice and worked hard, but unfortunately I still had to be very involved and was pouring sweat helping the team out. I left the property briefly to get a coffee and I come back to a large hole in the first floor at the base of the steps - they say they'd come out to repair it the next day, but I had to be out yesterday, so how does that work? I should have just rented a UHaul and done it myself. Worst business interaction I can remember, $700 (64%) increase to original quote, fail to move me out on the date stated, I had to do a large portion of the lifting / moving myself, and then they damage the property and don't do anything actually helpful about it. I cannot tell you how big of a regret hiring this company was. Word to the wise, think twice about a company that is OK letting you down in so many ways and not doing everything they can to make it right. Extremely disappointing.

We used Collegian Movers for our move within the same town. George who answered the phone to give us a quote was very kind and thorough. He took about a half hour to go through each room and to ask about the square footage and furniture in every room. It seemed like he understood the scope of the move and he gave us a price for 3 men. On the day of the move, the 3 movers showed up and said the move was too big for them and they needed to send 2 more movers. At that point, we were up against the clock to get out of our current home so had no choice but to pay for the additional labor. The cost at the end of the day was comparable to other quotes I received (though double what I was originally quoted), but felt they were deceptive in giving a low quote and then charging more on the day of. Three out of the five men were very professional and hard workers. However, one in particular was extremely rude and unprofessional. He relieved himself in the bathroom with the door wide open, and got into a verbal altercation with his colleague in our home. With so many F-bombs flying around, I reminded the men that I had a one-year child in the house with me and to take the argument outside, which they did not do. I wouldn't recommend Collegian Movers, I would have used All My Sons in hindsight.

I was very please with Collegian Movers. They were professional, thorough, and detail oriented. In my mind, they provided comparable or superior service to one of the large national moving chains, at a much lower price. The same two gentleman that picked up our things delivered them at our new location with other members of the Collegian team. They hired local help at the pickup site since it was a long-haul job, and those people were pretty good too, though a bit less professionally polished.

I used Collegian out of Milford CT. Every move was excellent. The major move involved packing up my full household and moving it to a new home. Thanks to Werner and all the guys for making it so easy. They took direction easily, and were always very helpful. The drivers, Werner, Ed and others were always good at managing the direction of their teams, and were so pleasant to work with. All workers were very careful with my things. They were always polite, respectful, and helpful with any special task. I have had them back a few times to help move boxes and larger items around the house. It's always a pleasure!

I asked them to move my son's 1 bedroom apartment from Greenwich CT to
Windsor Locks CT. Driving distance is 90 miles or around 2 hours
depending on traffic. The Good: Donovan and Ed, the truck driver and his
co-driver arrived on time, worked diligently and professionally. They
provided great service. They wrapped the mattress and did not break
anything. The Bad: George quoted me 5 hours including driving time at
$104.95 per hour for a total of $524.25. Donovan had me signed a number
of forms when he arrived, which I did rapidly because we were in a
hurry to move the stuff. At the end of the move, the final invoice was
no longer calculated on a flat fee per hour. They charged me for 5.75
hours of work @$90.00 per hours then added 2 hours of travel time
@$90.00 per hours. I ended up paying $812.58! The driver called George
who told me that he clearly explained the charges when I contacted him
for a quote and that the extra 2 hours were the travel time from their
office to Greenwich and from Windsor locks back to their office. PLEASE
asked for a written and detailed offer from this merchant if you want
to use them.

Not going hire this company again. Several pieces of furniture came scratched and nicked. A few boxes had blatant x shapes sliced with a box cutter so they could see what was inside. Very shady crew. 3 guys with 2 staying near the truck loading and apparently rummaging while they took turns only having one move boxes. It took an hour and a half to load the truck with me lifting as well. 2 hours to unload with an elevator. It took an hour for them to get from Bridgeport to New Haven which should be a 25 minute trip. I was told GPS took them out of the way. I was quoted for 5 hours and was charged this despite the move taking three and a half hours, with the hour of driving time agreed to I should have been charged for 4.5 hours without and quot;gps errorsand quot; factored or the snail pace that I compensated for.

Team was terrific. the estimating process was smooth and efficient. On the day of the move the guys showed up on time and got right to work. Handled everything carefully with only one small breakage. Importantly, they were so good they finished a couple of hours earlier than estimated which saved me a ton of money! A very nice experience which is unusual with moves!

They were very good and timely. They worked quickly and efficiently and they saved me $200 because it was an hourly job and they came in two hours under work that was estimated. There was an incident when they were moving a mirror from the bed on my daughter's house, they broke a wall lamp. Everything was excellent except for that issue. That was unfortunate but things can happen. They were a little bit lower than the other company that gave bids.

Horrible. I was told the drivers would arrive there between 12-2PM; they did not arrive until 3PM. This wouldn't have been a big deal if it wasn't for the fact that the facility closed at 6PM (something they should have known given that the storage facility is one they knew about). They also showed up with an additional guy (i had been only quoted for 2), and told me i would not be charged for him unless we went over the 6 hours.

Movers had no clue we were running into a time issue and, at around 4:30PM we were still way behind. They were already talking about having to make multiple trips, which there was no way they would be able to fit in before the facility closed. This forced me to re-prioritize our efforts and have them focus on getting out the and quot;biggerand quot; items, while leaving some of the smaller ones behind (for me to retrieve another day).

Additionally, i had been quoted for several moving equipment pieces (including boxes, etc.), which the movers did not arrive with. They came with about 4-6 commercial boxes which i was forced to pay for.

They got done exactly at around 8PM. And when billing they charged me for 5 hours of work and an additional hour for driving (????). I was too tired to fight them on it and just wanted to be done with the night, though i was dissapointed with the day's outcome: which was that i still had plenty of stuff to move out on my own in the facility. To my surprise, today (close to a month later), i received a bill from them telling me they 'misbilled' me and that their services actually cost $100 more. There is no way that their services warranted me paying for an extra hour for and quot;driving timeand quot;, never mind $100 for ANYTHING they missed. No way, no how. Will never use them again or recommend them to anyone.

It went fantastic, they were in and out with no damage to our furniture or house and they were very courteous. Last time I moved myself and spent close to the same amount and it was more stressful and painful.
I would not consider moving myself again I would contact Collegian again.

It went fine. It was a little slower than I would've liked. They got the job done and were pleasant guys. They weren't very efficient. I lived in Europe all my life though and they do things differently. They are trying do things as fast as possible here. They are over caring for the articles that you don't need to over care for.
