I have had Sal do chimney repairs and step repairs in the past as well.
Years ago Sal, brother and his Father took down a cement wall along our driveway, replaced it with a stone wall, built a small stone wall at the end of our driveway and built a brick sidewalk and stairs. All of these jobs were done on time, professionally and look beautiful. I would not hesitate to hire Sal for any work at my home. I can think of at least 3 people I have recommended Sal to, they have hired him and are happy with his work.
They recommended the use of bluestone which was too heavy for any of this work and has subsequently loosened up. It actually loosened up within the first year after the work was done. We had to call multiple times to get them to come back and look at the issue. As far as the loose front step, Sal told us it would get worse if he tried to fix it so leave it alone. Great solution and it is continuing to loosen up more now. The entrance way bluestone is also loose and we have not been able to get him to come back. The tile in my front foyer, which he said he could fix, he came back one of two times to work on and it is still chipping up. The stucco surface treatment is worn away on the landing of my front entrance, and we use the front entrance to the house only half the time. The stucco covering on my steps is flaking off. I have wanted to write this review since becoming a member of Angies and just got around to it today when I was upset once again with how my front entrance looks. Have to have someone now come and fix this mess.
