This was our cat who hates being touched and hates the car ride even more. Dr brooks gave him time to calm down before he did the exam and it worked. The cat was far more at ease than I have ever seen him. He was so much more relaxed for the ride home. The exam was thorough. Dr. Brooks was able to clean his ears and his eyes. The shots went without incident. I do have to say that the staff in this office work hard to make the visit as pleasant as possible for the animal. I would recommend them highly.

Dr. Brooks and his staff are great. I've been taking my three dogs to him for years. No complaints and they are helpful when I call with a problem.

Larry Brooks is the primary vet at this location and he is about the best vet you could find. He has a great, calm energy and is able to appreciate the quirks of the various pets while doing a great assessment 'around' those quirks as necessary. This is a no nonsense guy. He will give you an honest appraisal of what he thinks the problem is and allow you to make your decisions. He will not over charge you. I repeat, he will not over charge you. I have always felt like he was competent. More than competent. I have felt like my pets are getting treated by one of the best pet physicians in the area. He has been and quot;rightand quot; when others were wrong. He has enough knowledge to make educated diagnosis, even if a test (ie bloodwork) may suggest otherwise. In other words, HE is the source of expertise and he is not dependent upon someone or something else providing the diagnosis. Don't get me wrong, its not that he doesn't use tests. He is just smarter than the piece of paper with the test results!
That being said, when Dr. Brooks is on vacation and other vets cover, the service and professionalism is nowhere near the same. There is another vet there (can't remember his name) and he is ok, too. But nowhere near as thorough as Dr Brooks, nor do I feel he has the same laid back approach; he is more apt to push approaches that involve spending money.
The vet techs and office staff are friendly. I have six pets and therefore I am there a lot. I feel like they know me and I believe that certainly helps in terms of the quality of service I receive.
