Jeff and his crew were excellent. They were very prompt in responding to my initial inquiry. We were able to schedule the work immediately. The quality of their work was great and they were very reasonable in the cost. I plan on using them for all my electrical projects moving forward.

Jeff and his assistant were professional, friendly, and knowledgeable. They installed three light fixtures, fixed an outlet and Jeff gave us an estimate for our next round of fixtures to be installed. He offered suggestions, explained pros and cons to what we wanted to do and couldn’t have been more helpful. Their work was done expediently and was high quality and reasonably priced! We are using him again to replace six more fixtures in the next few weeks. Thanks for a great job, Jeff! Highly recommend!!

Wow. I am in shock as I write this. Back in January 2020, I hired Jeff to redo our electrical panel. It was not only unsightly, but we were having issues with circuit breakers tripping, etc... We mentioned this to him from the beginning. He showed up with his apprentice and they spent most of the day working on the panel. After they were done, he and the apprentice supposedly checked all of the plugs to ensure everything was working correctly. We again mentioned that the air conditioner was causing the breaker to trip and he said that it wouldn’t happen anymore. He asked for payment that day and promised to file our permit right away. I was reluctant to pay before he filed a permit with my town, but he was such a nice guy and promised to file within the week. Well, two weeks later and promises to take care of the permit, I called my town to confirm that the permit was indeed filed. It wasn’t. We gave our town his information and they contacted him and told him to file immediately, or there would be actions taken against him. He didn’t like that and told my husband that he shouldn’t have spoken to the town and that was the way things were done - permits filed at a later date! He did file after speaking to the town. Fast forward to July and our circuit breaker is tripping all over the place! I texted him and he called me back promptly. From the moment I spoke to him, he was condescending and obnoxious with me, telling me that he told me and my husband that his fee didn’t include routing the breakers appropriately to avoid tripping. When I replied that he most certainly did not ever say this and that this was one of the reasons we had the panel redone, he became belligerent and hung up on me. I would never recommend this guy to anyone. Stay away - there are plenty of electricians around. No need to deal with someone who doesn’t back up their work!

I had a nightmare-inducing overcrowded breaker box, and needed a subpanel in the attic for future circuits. Jeff and his helper Shaun did a precise and meticulous job and finished in just day and a half, and at a very fair price. Jeff is great at understanding your requirements and providing the ideal solution — Modern Electrical is the perfect example of what hiring a pro should be.

Jeff is a very personable, easy going person. He was methodical in his approach and consulted with us on the placement and length of the pendants. Care needed to be taken because he was 12 feet in the air, to do the install. I intend to use Modern Electrical for all my future electrical work and will recommend them to my friends.

Jeff was able to come within a hour of calling him even though he was on another job. I had no power to my refrigerator and needed help immediately. Jeff came and fixed the problem in under an hour so I didn't have to worry about food spoilage.

The fan installation proved to be much more challenging due to location and wiring. Jeff was able to work through it and everything turned out perfect!!

Everything went great. We had intermittent power dips in the house, so it was determined that the wiring needed to be upgraded from 60 to 110 amps. Jeff handled everything from permits to installation and final inspection. He had to install new meters on the outside of the house, and work in the small, low ceiling cellar to redo the electrical panel. Everything works much better now, and Jeff is flexible in his scheduling and reasonably priced.

It may have been just luck, but Jeff responded within minutes of my initial email inquiry asking for a quote. He then spent almost two hours at our house to determine the best and most cost effective way to hook up our new detached garage with electricity. The project also involved trenching through a gravel patio area, around a garden and about 50' to the garage, also done by Jeff. His quote was very reasonable and based on his price and demeanor we chose him over the other three contractors we had contacted. Jeff worked diligently, professionally, everything was done in the timeframe promised and he always made sure all fixtures and outlets were placed exactly where we want them. After Jeff finished, the home inspector literally said the work performed was "beautiful". We will definitely use Jeff's services in the future and I would highly recommend him.

We bought an older house that needed to be updated. Jeff did a lot of work for us over the period of several months, including the installation of GFI outlets, ceiling fans, recess lighting and motion lights. Everything he did was carefully planned and explained. We appreciated how detailed his estimates were. He didn’t just throw a number at us with no explanation. He explained every cost and charge, so there were no surprises. He even took the time to consult with our home security company about moving smoke detectors so they would be perfectly aligned with the new recess lights he installed. It is that attention to detail that we have come to expect from Jeff and Modern Electrical and it’s why we have already recommended him to other family members and friends.

I was so pleased with all aspects of Jeff's service. He even went in advance to the store, where I intended to buy a fixture, to view it and read instructions for install because the recommendation I had received did not sound correct to him. His attention to detail and knowledge saved me time, effort and money! I purchased a different fixture. The install and repair went quickly. Jeff even put a drop cloth under his work area and leaved my house spotless. He was prompt, professional and pleasant. I would both recommend and hire again.
