Roach Plumbing & Heating Well Pump Service

I have been relying on Roach Plumbing and Well Pump Service for many years. Most recently they did my annual service for the burner and heating boiler. Service tech arrived exactly on time, very courteous and professional. They do a good thorough job of cleaning the burner and vacuuming soot from the boiler and then tune it all to maximize efficiency.  Also changed my oil tank filter and checked the amperage draw on my well pump to check that it was running properly.  Roach Plumbing has done a lot of work for me in the past: water filtration system and treatment (Sean Roach is very knowledgeable in this area), installation of toilets and plumbing fixtures, fixing pipes in the middle of a winter night, virtually any plumbing need.  Highly recommended for anyone in their service area.

They arrived on time, did excellent and anwered all questions that I poised.

They have been absolutely fantastic. They always return my phone calls immediately. They are always on time or early for their appointment. They go above and beyond.

We recently relocated to Connecticut and remodeled our kitchen. Not being familiar with any of the local trades, we contacted Bob Roach on the recommendation of our realtor. Mr. Roach promptly came to the house, checked out the job, the appliance, and requested that we contact him when ready for the install. In hindsight, I should have requested competitive estimates at the time; however, based on the recommendation from a trusted source, we felt we would be treated fairly and professionally.
We contacted Mr. Roach who promptly arranged the appointment for the installation following installation of the cabinets/counters. One of Mr. Roach's plumbers came to complete the work. He was timely and personable. However, the overall job took an inordinate amount of time. After the install, we received a bill for nearly $900 which based on past experience for an installations of this nature appeared to be very high. We contacted Mr. Roach concerning the bill, and then learned his hourly rate was $135/hour. Furthermore, although he had never installed a Bosch dishwasher, Mr. Roach advised the installation of the Bosch was more complicated and took longer than other brands. Mr. Roach was not willing to compromise his labor rate in any way. We paid the bill and accepted responsibility for failing to demand an estimate in advance. (Live and learn).
However, now that we have lived with the job for several months, the quality leaves a lot to be desired. First of all, the plumber did not clean up after himself in the basement or our bathroom. Secondly, the fresh water dispenser he installed has come loose and is dangling. Thirdly, the strainer was not centered in the bottom of the sink leaving exposed plumber's putty. And lastly, the dishwasher is anchored by screws to the inner sides of our brand new cabinetry. Those inner sides are now split by those screws which were drilled by the plumber and require repair to prevent further damage. We will never utilize this business again.

It is convenient because he is my neighbor and it is located across the road. They are good and we got what we expected. They were there when I needed them. They are quick to respond.

They are expensive, but they are reliable. I would recommend them.
