"Very challenging environment. There was no parking on a very busy road due to multiple vehicles in the driveway. Several months transpired with no response to move claim along. The Insurance company and Servpro exhibited extreme patience with this client due to her inability to make decisions on a relatively minor water damage in a garage that was used as a storage area."
We had a water leak from an upstairs bathroom to a room downstairs. The water had dripped through the downstairs ceiling and onto the carpets in the room -- both the ceiling and carpets appeared soaked, as well as some of the furniture and personal items. We discovered the problem very early morning on a weekend and I called and left a message on ServePro of Manchester/Bolton's 24/7 line and they called me back within the hour. I asked for the water damage mitigation service and they were very upfront and specific about the prices about coming out on a weekend emergency call, even just for an assessment, and what the probable cost would be for renting out their industrial fans and dryer/humidifiers based on my description of the situation although they stated it would not be possible to give a final assessment until they saw the damage in person. They also were very clear about what they did not do -- that I would have to separately contact a plumber for any problems with the bathroom upstairs which they recommended I do right away to fix the source of the water even before they started clean-up -- and that what I would be contracting them for was only a clean-up service so any carpet replacement, painting, drywall, etc. that might be needed was not in their purview. After speaking to the person on the phone, I decided that I was willing in the least to pay just to have them come out and a**** the damage and tell me what was needed and that, after the assessment, I would get a total price quote from them. The assessment, which was a bit pricy on a weekend emergency call, I decided was worth it because they assured me that it would be folded into the total cost of the service if I contracted with them (which I did). Moreover, their cost assessment both over the phone and in person was very close to the final cost that has been charged to me (and actually a little less than the initial assessment for which I am grateful). Their weekend emergency crew was on another job at the time but was able to make it to my location within two hours of my initial call. I found them courteous, professional, knowledgeable and very responsive and patient to my inquiries about where I could perhaps save costs, but ultimately get the result I was seeking and not sacrifice the quality of their work. From what I understood, they can do absolutely everything for you, but, if you are willing to take on a few things by yourself, there might be a few ways in which the price can be lowered. I ended up moving and drying out most of my personal items myself and moving some of the lighter furniture so they could rip up the carpet to dry the floor underneath -- but they moved the heaviest furniture items and accomplished my main goal which was drying out floor and ceiling. They do warn you beforehand (or at least my guys did) that you will be left with ripped up carpet to get to the subfloor and mats to dry that out -- they are a water damage service not a carpet service -- and that with the ceiling water damage they would have to drill a few holes to make sure water was not up there. So have a separate carpet service and painting/drywall service at the ready once they are finished. It took about four days total of renting the fans/dryer/humidifier to get everything dry enough I was not worried about mold etc. in my case and overall I was very satisfied -- they warned me what was included in the price and what they would do (ie damage mitigation) and would not do (i.e. its not going to look like it did before and other services are needed to repair the damage). Ultimately, they did what they said they were going to do, at a reasonable price that was even less than their initial assessment price, efficiently, showed up when they said they would, gave me a call before each visit, and acted in a professional manner.
This company is outstanding, I have no words to describe how excellent they are. My home had four feet of water from a burst pipe, in record time they removed all remaining water after the fire department left. They removed the carpet, furniture, sheet rock, insulation and had Capitol Moving and Storage (another excellent company) remove everything that could be saved. They were compassionate and very professional, I don't know what I would have done without their help and expertise. I highly recommend this company.
I was very pleased with them overall and wish that I could have finished the project with them as their staff overall was great.
Lorin and Greg were great.
