When problems arose, we were unable to contact him, did not answer phone and when we finally got through to him he set an appointment that he did not keep. At first I liked him and thought he did good work. Now I wish I had never heard of him.

I give my highest possible recommendation to Steve Clark and his firm, Hygrade. They completely renovated our home from a heating/air conditioning perspective, and did it was incredible professionalism and quality of workmanship.
With regard to the projects, we recently purchased an old colonial style home which did not have central air conditioning. As a result, our first project was to install that system (which included running the duct work). Steve and his crew did this in a very fast, efficient manner so that we were ready for summer.
We also wanted to convert our heating to natural gas, so we engaged Steve for that job as well. He and his crew worked for several days removing the old oil-burning furance, water heater, and oil tank (which was no easy project). He then installed a modern, efficient tankless unit in our home which provides our heat and hot water. It was a big project, but Hygrade was able to handle it with a high quality of service, at a very competitive price. I would recommend Hygrade and Steve Clark to anyone.

Excellent!!! Steven is a professional, his crew answered any questions I had and were very helpful. They even removed an old, huge cast-iron radiator free of charge, it probably weighed close to 10000lbs. The price was very reasonable, right in the sweet spot of not being so low to make you question the quality of service and definitely not over-priced. My only complaint was the cleanup afterwards,
although they tried to clean up a bit, I would have liked to see the basement a cleaner. Had I been on-site at cleanup time I'm sure I could have requested a bit more cleanup work without hassle.
Steve came highly recommended through several neighbors who had similar or bigger jobs done and they too were very happy with his work.

Do yourself a favor and call Steve before you hire another HVAC contractor.

The story begins when we needed a propane outlet for a grille from our home propane heating system.  The estimate that we got  $1100.00, slammed a damper on the idea, the reason according to the plumber, he had to dismantle the existing piping to provide the connection.  Made me think, that instead of spending 25 years in Information Technology and getting my job outsourced at an age when I could not find another, I could have become a plumber and lived happily ever after.  Anyway, having lived through a week without power and heat during "Irene", we knew we needed a standby Generator.  Our baseboard home heating system furnace was 29 years old, the second hot water heater was beyond its warranty period.  So, we decided to combine these projects to spread the cost of rerouting of pipes.  We decided to upgrade the home heating and hot water system with newer technology that combines both in a wall mounted condensing boiler and is 90% efficient.  We got  three estimates; (a)  $11,729 with Triangle Tube boiler + $775 for gas grill outlet, (b) $8,300 with Samsung 'Quietside' boiler + $250 for gas grill outlet, and (c) $5,400 with Samsung Quietside boiler + gas grill outlet.  Having gotten an idea of the extreme scientific pricing practices of  HVAC contractors, we decided to use our common sense and go with the third estimate from Hygrade Mechanical Services and the details of the project are given above.  The third part of the project -- the standby generator is under estimate evaluation and we will file a review when done.
