On Sept 12, 2011, humidity caused living room floor to swell and buckle with about 3-5 inches under wood! Since I was still within the 1-year guarantee, they came and cut out about 1.5 inches to the nearest wall and floors came down. During subsequent summers, I made sure A/C was on to avoid future problems, but there was always a softness under the floor in the same place in living room.
On July 13, 2013, came back after one month being out of town to find that the heat wave (and no A/C) had caused the living room floor to buckle in the same place. This time the space under the floor was 6-8 inches with boards completed popped out. I went closer to inspect and fell heavily. I'm 7y0 years old with heart condition, so - in addition to the pain, there was some health issues. Turned on A/C and after 2 days, some of the swelling had gone down, but there was still displaced boards with about 4 inches of air under that living room area., Called Dalene Sunday July 14 to schedule someone to inspect and give estimate: called about 4 times leaving messages, but NO ONE CALLED BACK until Tuesday. By then I had already seen another hardwood specialist who (a) came quickly and (b) identified a serious install problem with that living room area: the vapor barrier had been sliced incorrectly during install, and therefore continued to promote increased weakness in the covering wood. In fact, several boards have been seriously damaged. This is NOT PROFESSIONAL WORK, and I paid over $12,000 for that work to be done professionally. I'm a professional woman, highly educated and - whle now retired - still expect contracted work to be accomplished professionally,
When someone finally called back from Dalene, I told them I would now be dealing with another specialist and that I would be letting people know on Angie's List of my experience,.
