The door that was raised was not properly shimmed. The porch post he replaced was one radically different in style from my other porch posts. (The replacement post was Victorian in style while my porch posts are plain, four-sided posts.) He told me the replacement post was the best he could get with the lumberyard he uses. I went to the same lumberyard, got the exact style that  I needed and replaced his replacement post. Work was suspended when complications arose when I was having my deck design reviewed by the local design and review board. When the design was approved, I called Shane and left a message that he should come back and finish the project. He never responded. And I never recovered the $3,000 deposit for the project. The work was poor and I felt he was in over his head (a view supported by another professional in the trade that I had look at his work), so I felt it was in my best interest not to have him back.
