I found Damon Rich of D Rich Masonry here on the list. He was local and close by. He responded quickly, evaluated the problem and did the job in a day as well as seal that and one other chimney. He was polite and easy to work with and did a great job. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND D. Rich Masonry in Killingworth, Connecticut. I will call him again when I need the next job done.

Excellent job of chimney repair. It looks terrific. Damon was very professional, showed up when he said he would, the price seemed reasonable, and he cleaned up the area afterward. He installed scaffolding around the chimney and protected the shingle roof. I would definitely hire him again.

We had our patio redone with stone pavers and two stone retaining walls on each side. Damon was professional from Day 1. He gave us a written quote within the first week and clearly communicated when the job would start. His crew was polite and hard working. We were very comfortable with them. They made suggestions and we made changes and the work was done thoroughly. They made suggestions that were based on the topography of our particular yard. Damon personally checked on our satisfaction and improved the quality of one of the walls we had a concern about.  We are extremely happy with the outcome. Damon also came by a few days later to make sure everything was ok. We would definitely use him again.

During a home inspection, an issue with water leak in the ceiling around the chimney was found. I needed a chimney inspection in a very short time frame with an approaching closing date. D Rich Stone & Chimney was able to accommodate the schedule and repair very quickly and at a very reasonable cost. Professional, personable, reliable. I would absolutely recommend them!

They were terrific. Priced out what was needed and there were no surprises at the end. Even when one of the flue liners was difficult to install. Bit of a hiccup with the insert but was taken care of quickly. I would recommend and use again.

D Rich Stone & Chimney FAR EXCEEDED our expectations!! My wife and I selected the style and color stone we wanted for for the fireplace.  Our existing fireplace was basically red brick.  It was very bland and definitely needed updating. When we initially met with Damon he was prompt, professional and discussed many options with us.  Most of the option he had not originally considered.  We were both very impressed.  Any mason could have come to our house and simply asked what we wanted done and simply does the job but not Damon! He discussed many options with us and we never felt pressured in one direction or another.  Damon provided plenty of time for us to consider the work options and advised us to simply give him a call when we were ready.  My wife and I went to various masonry showrooms and selected the stone, hearth and mantle we liked best.  We have the material delivered and had a pattern for the stone we thought would work best. We then called and set up a schedule with Damon to complete the work.  Damon was VERY responsive and started the work within a week!  Again, VERY impressive! My wife and I discuss the stone pattern with Damon when he and his crew arrived to perform the work.  Damon along with his crew asked if they could re-work the pattern a bit and if we were not please we could most certainly stay with the original design. After about 30 minutes, Damon asked my wife and I to step outside to very the pattern he and his crew came up with.  Well, I have to say Damon and the crew took the pattern to a whole new level to say the least!!! There was not question the pattern they came up with far exceed what my wife and I were thinking! We went with their design! Damon's crew worked continuously each day from the first day till the job was completed! Damon's mason's Ben was FABULOUS!! Such attention to detail! There were no time lapses between work days to run off to other jobs!! Additionally, my wife and I could certainly tell the work was never rushed and the attention to detail was outstanding!! The work was completed on time and the job came out far exceeding our expectations!!! My wife and I tend to be quite picky(more so me than my wife) when it comes to having contractors perform work at the house and really strive to get quality work completed so for me to give Damon and his crew such high remarks only goes to show his level of quality, professionalism and great talent for their masonry work!   GREAT WORK DAMON, BEN  AND KEITH!!!

We had previously contracted with Damon to rebuild part of our flue and install a liner.  We decided to have him come back and clean and inspect the flue this year.  He arrived and immediately worked to clean the flue.  We also asked if he could troubleshoot a problem with the 'draw' from our wood stove.  He was able to determine that the buildup of creosote from green wood affected the performance of our stove.  He resolved the issue by thoroughly cleaning the flue and connecting pipe.  The time of the service was about 30 minutes.

Rich Stone and Chimney completed the estimate and work within a week of contact.  The work was outstanding.  They provided a quick estimate through email as well as projected timeline for completion of the work.  All the work was started and completed according to the estimate.  They were prompt, respectful of the property, and neat.  I highly recommend D. Rich Stone and Chimney.

Horrible experience!!! Damon Rich committed to building a stone wall and walk way at my home. I had the entire yard dug up and 4 tons of stone dropped off on my lawn by him. The day before the project was to begin, he texted me (not even the courtesy of a phone call) and said that he "wasn't going to make enough money on the job" because he miscalculated the amount of stone and work needed. So he was not going to do the work!! EXTREMELY unprofessional. I was left in a total lurch. DO NOT HIRE!!!

I had my chimney inspected and found that it was in need of some serious repair. Since Winter was approaching, we needed to find someone that was able to perform the repairs quickly. I called a few contractors and got two estimates. Damon's was not the lowest, but, he was very responsive and understood our desire to perform the repairs quickly. The fact that he also repaired my daughter's chimney was a plus.

His crew showed up on a rainy day and worked to repair the existing brick. They replaced about 14 courses of brick that day. They returned on the next day and added a cap to the bottom and top of our existing liner. All in all, a job well done.

The guys did an excellent job. They worked hard, were prompt, thorough, and courteous, and cleaned up thoroughly. Highly recommended!
