However, contractor would not commit up front to a dollar estimate for the entire job. Initial rough estimate of $700 was to include significant work concealing other wiring running conspicuously on house exterior. Job still cost $700, but contractor didn't do this second part because, he said, the main job took longer than expected due to unforeseen circumstances, and that I added work (which I did) having him assess a non-working exterior light (household switch was turned off). I was disappointed with this, but impressed enough with his work overall that I would invite him back for future work.
