We are very satisfied with the job. The price was competitive and the the work team was very efficient. They kept us informed as they made the changes. The unit was constructed at the company's site and brought in to our home. Mike was always available for questions. His team was very pleasant and easy to work with. We had a problem with one of our thermostats and Mike saw that it was replaced quickly and at no extra cost. The old equipment was removed cleanly. The amount reimbursed for the remaining oil was deducted from the final payment. We have recommended Izbicki to friends who are converting to natural gas.

I was thoroughly impressed with every aspect of the work performed by Mike and his crew. Mike had pre-built the new heating unit and plumbing interconnects on a board (the unit is very compact and is designed to be wall mounted), and delivered it to my house a few days prior to the scheduled installation. But I then noticed that the height of the board was a few inches greater than the floor to joist height in the basement; it was not going to fit. So they installed a new mounting board on the wall, and proceeded to mount the unit on it and build all the plumbing in place. The work took several days and they did it in such a way as to keep domestic hot water service running off the old oil burner until the very end when everything on the new unit was in place and they had to remove the old burner. I checked in with the crew many times during the installation to view their progress and ask questions about the unit. They were helpful and extremely friendly. They were easy to talk with, and cheerfully answered all my concerns and questions. After draining the remaining oil from my tank, they removed it from the basement. The compensation I was given for the unused oil was deducted from the cost of the unit and labor charges. They removed the old oil burner. They cleaned up their work area at the end of each day.
When we finally went to fire up the new unit, it was clear there was a problem. Not finding anything wrong with the unit, they called in Norwich Public Utilities. They quickly determined that the problem was with the service from the street to the house. Mike took personal responsibility for resolving the problem with the utility company. The problem turned out to be a defective flow restrictor valve connecting the main to the service line running to my house. It required the utility to re-excavate the connection site in the street, and install a new valve. Scheduling and performing this work took several days, and Mike stayed on top of it throughout. He was very apologetic, and when they were done, he personally came out to test the unit and make sure that it was working perfectly.
I highly recommend Izbicki to anyone. The price was more than fair, and quality and workmanship in the installation was impressive, almost like a work of art. The friendliness and professionalism they showed throughout gave me a sense of confidence in their work and in the unit.

He was excellent and top notch. We unequivocally recommend Mick Izbicki Contracting. They were not the cheapest (nor the most expensive), but we are convinced they are the BEST at what they do.
