My husband has a $500 deductible. Normally for deductibles insurance companies do not fight this. But The Hartford was able to fight this for us. They told him they would follow up with everything and get this taken care of. We had paid the deductible but since they were able to get everything taken care of they gave us that deductible back. We were very impressed and pleased with the insurance agent and how everything was handled.

I gave the Hartford (via AARP) a call when my boat insurance came due a couple years ago,thinking the premium was very high considering low risk and short boating season in MN. Found that I was right, as their quote for the same insurance was about 1/3 what I had been paying, so went with them for the boat.



A year later I got an invite to check auto insurance/coverage with them, and went to their web site, and found that insurance for my 3 cars was about 1/2 of what I had been paying, for much better coverage. Finalized the policy via phone, but still got the on-line application discount. Their on-line quote system is very user friendly.



Only auto claim so far was for a new windshield, which was covered in full and handled very promptly via their recommended glass replacement partner - Safelite.



(I subsequently switched my homeowners to them, and after only 4 months we had hail damage, I notified them, was quickly contacted by an adjuster, he confirmed the damage, and I had a check within 2 days - about 1 1/2 weeks from the date of the damage - very satisfied to date)

The process for obtaining insurance went very well. I have been getting my auto insurance form The Harford since 2002 and I conduct all business on the phone. I never wait online for an agent and they take their time to explain the options and provide prices. I recently moved to a different state and the process went very smoothly, including a reduction in cost.

The first rep I talked to hung up on me, the 2nd blamed the increase on the State of Indiana and subsequent reps confirmed the price increase was because of the claim and it should have been filed as a inquiry and not a claim.

They're less expensive than the major insurance companies.  They're available through AARP, so you can get better rates.

I was referred to them by my financial adviser. I think it is a good company and the prices are reasonable. They are competent and are a well-known company.

I have been using them for three or four years. I am satisfied with them. It was kind of worth it for me. Again, I haven't had a claim, so I don't know how they would respond in that area yet. However, as far as I am concerned I would recommend them. I don't know for sure but it could be the lack of knowledge of a better deal that has kept us with them over the years. We had shopped a little bit and they seemed to be fair with us. I haven't used them claim wise, I am hoping that if I ever have to, they would be responsive, but other than that, I am satisfied with them. I went to them for their price because my previous provider raised their prices.

The prices have always been fair. When I needed them to come out then they were here in no time. They couldn't have been better.

We have been satisfied with their services so far.
