After several bad experiences with Sears, I decided to buy my new Bosch dishwasher from a local appliance store. The main concern was that the installation and service would be done by employees and not subcontractors. The owner installed the dishwasher, which was nice, and was able to make an appointment within days of calling. However, when one month later we had an issue and needed service, things changed drastically. They were unwilling to come out for at least two weeks and instead suggested that we call A&E, which is a subsidiary of Sears! I'm a fan of irony, but this was too much. Basically, great service until you pay, and seemingly much much worse service after you do. Installation & purchase: a few days; service: weeks, maybe, but you can try Sears. Wow!
