Bob met with me at our home several times to go over the plans and measurements, and then met with the salesperson at Lowe's to review and approve the final design. Bob was very patient in working with me (I tend to obsess over things) and with Lowe's (who seemed to be less than thrilled that we weren't using a Lowe's installer.) Bob Healy and his assistant, James Thompson, did a beautiful job of installing our kitchen cabinets, despite several challenges. One was that demolition of the soffits revealed pipes that had to be accommodated while installing the top cabinets. Another challenge was that the pantry cabinet, which Lowe's told us would be shipped as two pieces, was actually shipped as a single tall unit. Getting this massive piece into our kitchen and into the proper position required some creative solutions that Bob came up with. He also had to contend with uneven ceiling heights when installing the crown mouldings over the cabinets. And finally, he was able to use some spare pieces of trim and moulding to create a nice area where a soffit had once existed over the sink. This saved us from having to order (and wait for) extra materials from the cabinet manufacturer.
Bob and his assistant were always punctual, and they cleaned up everything at the end of each work day. We asked Bob to add some wainscoting and mouldings to our kitchen, and it looked so good that we called him back to extend it into an adjacent area on a lower level just outside the first floor bathroom. The result was a beautiful design feature that visually ties together these two areas and adds a lot of eye appeal.
Bob coordinated the work between the electrician, plumber, and painter, so that our kitchen remodel went smoothly. The only thing he didn't get involved with was the countertop installation, which Lowe's contracted out to Dinstinctive Countertops (Wolcott, CT), and they also did a fine job.
Crown mouldings were installed in our living room and dining room on 1/18/12. Kitchen cabinets were installed 3/21 thru 3/26/12. Countertops were installed (not by Bob) 4/12/12. Bob installed the additional wainscoting on 4/14/12. And we had Bob and James come back on 7/20/12 to install an attic ladder on our second floor, which also came out great.
With Bob Healy, you are getting an experienced, master carpenter who can give you everything you want at a fair price. Both he and his assistant James Thompson were a pleasure to work with.
"Thank you Member I am happy you are enjoying your kitchen ,and i feel that i have made a good friend."
