Dan Tyler, the General Contractor, was a gem to work with.  He is friendly, he listens to your needs (and rants), and genuinely cares  about doing a good job.  To make this even more fun, I live over 1,000 miles away, so I really needed somebody I could trust.  And Dan was The Man.  He coordinated all the removal and water remediation with the Service Master crew, came back in to clean it up afterwards and treat studs for mold, handled the many facets and timing of working with a local flooring company on floor prep, tiling and carpet.  Arranged for cabinet purchases.  Accepted delivery of all the new appliances, got everything new sheetrocked, painted, installed, and looking first class.  Corrdinated the plumbers, the electricians, everything. And he spent countless hours chasing the water department to find the outside water shutoff valve.   It wasn't anywhere near where their records and plats showed it to be, and they tried hard to blow him off, and at one point they shut down the entire street so that Dan could have the plumber replace the inside water shut off valve, and then the water department folks tried to say "okay, we're out of here".  But Dan was a bulldog and stayed with it until they finally found it.....15 feet from where they said it was.  I cannot imagine ever having better service from such a major event again.  I know that I cannot recommend Dan highly enough.
