Overall, the job went well. We had just wanted a routine service call for our steam heat boiler, because it was making a loud clacking noise (not uncommon with steam heat, especially since some of the pipes are over 100 years old).   During inspection of the heating system, problems were discovered with the pipes in the basement feeding the boiler.  Specifically, another plumbing company had  performed an improper pipe installation.   Gateway was able to correct the problem by cutting out the improper piping and replacing it.  Although the job ended up costing substantially more than we had originally planned, Gateway did a very high quality job within a reasonable timeframe.

Gateway told us it was okay to put concrete over the pipes they put in so we did. Then things weren't working properly and they denied saying that. We obviously did not want to jack hammer away our basement floor, so we just left it. They did send a person out to take pictures, but they tried to charge us more money for that service. We did not pay it because that would have been ridiculous. Their biggest problem is poor communication and probably bad advice. They sent out a master plumber to give us the estimate, but then some no master plumber did the work. I don't know if he was unskilled or just unknowledgeable. I was pretty irritated with them though. The piping they put in has done okay, so I really have no problems with that specifically. I will not be using them again though.

The guys from Gateway do excellent work. We have used their services on several previous occasions in which says it all in my book. They came on time and did exactly what was asked of them. They also did a great job with the clean up work. Everything in both bathrooms works and looks perfect. We definitely recommend their services.

VINNY, THE SERVICE MAN, CAME TO OUR HOUSE THE MINUTE WE CALLED HIM. HE WAS VERY NEAT AND EFFICIENT AND WE WOULD DEFINITELY CALL HIM AGAIN IF WE NEEDED FURTHER ASSISTANCE IN PLUMBING.
